Shield Boost Amplifiers & Capital Module Interaction

After a couple of dreadnought kills in our home system (Phoenix, Naglfar) while defending it from Russian invaders, I noticed something weird about their fits in that shield boost amplifiers aren't supposed to work (according to the modules descriptions) with capital sized modules. I checked with a buddy who is able to pilot a Phoenix on the test server, and according to both the show info and tooltips, the boost amplifiers do indeed affect the boost amount from a Capital Shield Booster. The meta version of the module was also tested, with an identical result. I presume that the same is also true on the live server, but since this has not been verified on Tranquility, I felt this forum to be the appropriate place for discussion.

Testing method:

  1. Equip Shield Boost Amplifier II & Capital Shield Booster
  2. Undock, check show info & tooltips for modules.
  3. Disable Shield Boost Amplifier II, note changes on Show Info & module tooltips.

The Phoenix in question was also tested in the combat areas on the test server, and the tank did indeed seem to be affected by the boost amplifiers as displayed in the tooltips.

Clarification from the Devs as to whether this interaction should occur or not would be greatly appreciated.

Are shield boost amplifiers supposed to work with capital reps? Why do crystal implants and some other hardwirings not work with capital reps?

Because it's impossible to make a viable dual-shield-booster setup on a shield tanking capital. A shield capital with a shield booster and shield boost amplifier has a similar tank to an armor capital with dual armor reppers. Without, active shield tanking a capital in any effective manner would be impossible. The shield boost amplifier is the only active-tank-boosting module that affects capital mods, because it is integral to the way active shield tanking works.
