I seem to recall there used to be a Testing alliance on sisi.

Is this still the case, and if so what is the alliance name?

This was not done on the current mirror and I have seen nothing to indicate it will be done on the coming mirror.

The CCP dev that used to do this is gone. Nobody has stepped up to take over this testing feature.

Setting up your own alliance is not hard on SiSi. the biggest hurdle is the skills, and if you are considering starting an alliance on TQ then your skills should already be in place or close to it. There are many ways on SiSi to raise large amounts of isk quickly. And whatever you need to buy only costs 100 isk.

For example I wanted to play with the mechanics of building an outpost, just to get an idea of the work involved(aside from the huge cost in mats) before working toward that goal on TQ. I needed an alliance, and sov in a system to do that. With no test alliance to join I decided to start my own. Now we will have a new mirror any day now, so I am waiting to start over on the new mirror.

The developers who ran the test alliance haven't gone anywhere. Unfortunately, QA are simply too busy to facilitate the test alliance at the moment. It was always an extra service offered because we had the time for it, but that is not the case at the moment. The service may resume at some point.
