title says it all.

seen a few threads talking about it but no fits.

i am basically maxed on gunnery skills and hybrids and only lacking lvl 5 for both rail and blaster spec's of all sizes

got all subsystems to 3 finishing caldari cruisor to 5 and will raise the ubsystems to 4 then after that

looking at getting a tengu just because it's a tengu and they are good

subsystem wise i think i know what i need but more info never hurts

They're good because of the spectacular bonuses they get to MISSILES. Blaster Tengu is a waste of money, either train armor and get a Proteus, or invest in a nice Ferox.

EDIT: Sorry if that sounded blunt, but if you EFT it, you'll see what I'm talking about. The damage bonus on the hybrid subsystem isn't great, so you end up doing slightly more damage than heavy missiles, but with 15% the range. I believe a Tengu with HAMs would out-dps blasters, and certainly outrange them.

A good blaster Tengu is hard to pin down. It can take many shapes -- possibly any shape, really. In fact, if you capture it it will be able to answer all your questions. But it's slippery. Also, fond of water.

-take standard tengu fit
-replace missile sub with hybrid sub
-slap on magstabs+blasters
-slap on some hybrid rigs
-????????
-fail miserably.

That's a Templar, an Amarr fighter used by carriers.

In fairness, it's not unjust.

It's a bit like putting small ACs on a Mach....I mean .. sure...you can...but....

Missile Tengu is broken, it gets triple bonus to missiles.

Blaster Tengu doesn't get triple bonus to blasters.

Missile Tengu > blaster Tengu

Blaster Proteus > all

hope this helped you in your quest

Blasters for proteus
Missiles for tengu
AC for Loki
Bunny rabbits for the Legion.

Didn't you get the memo?

Maybe if you just look at the EFT numbers. Once you consider tracking the blaster Tengu at optimal is significantly out-damaging the missile setups.

Not that it changes the end result by much though, you're still better off getting a Brutix and having 400 million ISK left to buy a few more.

dual large ASB and nuetrons

If you have max fitting skills and a bit of cash for the odd fancy mod or two and need to tank particularly insanely: Dual x-l ASB and electrons. Yes it fits but 10mn AB only, mwd is doable but you lose too much deeps from reactors or tank with ancils.

Is that the tracking the missiles neither need, nor care about?

And if you're going short range and ignoring travel time, the HAM tengu is bat**** crazy.

brewed this brawler fit up a bit'o time ago, it works decently, but you have to bait players in to range.
note that it's mostly a 1v1 brawler fit though.

once they're caught they get a nasty surprise.
it works, but a proteus can do the job better

"Tracking" as in speed and signature radius. Missile Tengus have great EFT dps, but once you consider real damage the blaster setup has a significant advantage since it can apply a greater percentage of its theoretical maximum dps.

A properly fit ship is only *really* going to lose [material] DPS to speed, tiny targets aside and the speeds required to make serious mitigation will probably put tracking to the sword too.

Come near a properly fit HAM tengu and you'll feel the pain, significantly more than blasters. HAMs, with max skills, proper rigs and no implants are at 116m radius...that's going to HURT. especially at 880-900+ dps (kit depending). Complete with space for a web/TP if the mood takes

I'm not underestimating blasters, I think though, that you're underestimating the evil incarnate of the properly fit HAM tengu. Twisted

Of course...travel time sinks it.

Edit: @OP It's not that a turrt tengu is *bad* per-se...just that....it pales next to the launcher breeds.
