What is the official policy towards players making multiple alts for the sole purpose of entering an opposing factions militia and spying, disrupting and misleading Faction Warfare forces?

I would imagine that spying in FW is a prefectly legit tactic if only because it's a perfectly legit tactic in nullsec / alliance warfare.

Yeah but in player corps it's the CEO's fault for not checking emp. history and looking out for spies. Anyone can roll an alt and join The State Protectorate.

We have a current spy that leads fleets of new players into traps where they are massacred.

FW has plenty of uses not available to nul-alliance warfare.

Good god, how bad do you have to be at this game for that to happen multiple times?

That's what I'm getting at... it's so easy to make an alt and join militia.

During busy hours you can throw up a fleet and get a least a few players.

....ITS A TARP!

Haha, the guy even admits it doing it in militia chat. He and his gallente buddy get real whoopies outta 'da trolling.'

But day by day people still don't know about this.

Spy !

It is all legit, stop crying.

Whole Caldari militia has been lead by gallente militia spies for a long time, there is nothing new in here.

Practically gallente is fighting against their own alts all the time, that is the reason why they OWN !

Personally I don't think there is a spy problem as such.

The effectiveness of spying is seriously overestimated. Very few people actually fall for a spy's tricks, and it really keeps people alert at all times, which they should be when in a PvP structure like FW.

A preoccupation with the threat of spies is really just a symptom of the much deeper flaws within the Caldari militia. When a faction is being thoroughly defeated on a daily basis (as CalMil most definitely is), members will search for someone to blame. In this case it's easy to blame the spies, who are in actuality only picking off a few noobs from time to time. It's much harder to address the enormous superiority of Gallente forces in numbers, resources, and organisation.

Well, if they keep doing it to the State, time to plant a spy or two in the Federation. Do to them as they do to you and balance is restored Pirate

Personally I feel that spies are legit and should be kept as so.

When you can make a new character, change the name to something obscure, fly around looking like a noob and get into a corp of someones. Then shortly after you join they get wardec'd (Say a week or two) you're smart enough to avoid them / not leave station or being paid to look like either a dumbass who loses a few ships that don't cost nearly anything or a hero that organizes a fleet to go after the Warring Corp. Just to give away your location and let the baddies know what to expect. You lose your ship complain / Rage Quit / leave corp. You've successfully turned over a corporation just for the fun of it.

Factional Warfare should be maintained the same way on spies.

If someone benefits off the knowledge that the spy can obtain, then why not fly in and play the part. It doesn't cost you anything more than you were expecting to lose, and the spy always blows up 1 ship and always just barely makes it out alive. ^_^
