Distribution missions leads to combat storyline missions?

After completing multiple distribution missions, the game offers me a combat storyline mission as a faction reward - "Record Cleaning".

It seems quite unfair that the game (seems to) push everything to be combat ship related. It would be the equivalent of a pilot performing all combat missions and then be given a distribution mission involving one to move a large cargo - it is backwards. Besides training to dabble in mining, some planetary interaction, and the meager research points through science, the game is saying to make sure I train combat too. Yes, it might be in the future, but geesh - work that into the plans now too.

Of course, I do not have to perform the mission. I was just noting that it is backwards that a set of missions offers a different style of mission as a faction reward.

Have a good day!

Random storylines are random storylines...
I hate to do 16 security missions and then getting the destribution, or "go buy kernite" missions, but there is nothing you can do about it...
BTW, IMHO, getting security after 16 distribution missions is not so bad, as you can do many distribution missions per hour, not like security missions.

The irony is not lost on me that a few weeks ago while grinding standings for Amarr, I had 3 ‘Materials for war’ storylines and one ‘Huge Distribution’ 40k/m3 storyline and then topped it off with a combat vs. Gallente storyline which caused a loss of 6.1 Gallente, gain of 8.6 Amarr.

So it doesn’t matter if you’re doing combat, or distribution, you never get what you want every time.

Things that keep me up at night;  Why do we use a voice communication device to send telegraphs? Moore's Law should state, Once you have paid off the last PC upgrade you will need another.

This issue heralds back to when agents had quality levels. Back then, you still had a chance to get a distribution mission from doing security missions and vise versa. At least you don't get distribution missions from regular security agents, that use to suck.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Oh God, I hate storylines exactly because they always are about frikking ore delivery. In hisec it is no problem even if mission requires you to actually mine something but in my current neck of the woods they are just pain in da azz. Unfortunately storylines are only way to get empire faction standings (well, beside COSMOS and Data Center agents of course).

Dev who thought it will be fun should be taken outside and flogged. There is a reason I am doing security missions, right? I don't recall Rambo being sent to fetch some coal to keep war burning.

Storyline Agents have a very small mission pool available which means they will offer all types of missions. The bug is if the agent offers you the same mission twice in a row. That bug was supposed to be fixed a while back.

Since it seems that the Storyline offer is always opposite of the type of regular missions being completed, might try this and see if it makes a difference since the Storyline offer is always from an agent nearest to the location of the Agent who offered the 16th mission. Maybe that regular Agent's Division has some influence on the Storyline?

To get a Security Storyline offer, complete 15 missions for security division, then do the 16th mission for Distribution. Hopefully the Storyline offer will be a security mission.

Same for getting Distribution Storyline offer, do 15 Distribution missions, then do the 16th mission for Security Division.

I'm not sure how Mining Division would work with the above hypothesis.

Try hauling 8.6k kernite in a CNR.

Need to change location. When I do Distribution Missions for CAS in Lereblompes, I get a Sec Storyline. When I do Distribution Missions for CAS in Foves, I get a Distribution Storyline. Everytime, never fails.

If you like youre current location, you should still try to find a better storyline agent and find a dist agent nearby. You always get the storyline agent from the one closest to you're 16th mission...so run 15 from the location you like, then go someplace elese to run the 16th for the storyline.

It's not always accurate, but more often then not, when I do free roams I usually get sec stroylines form Dist agent, and Dist storyline from Sec agent....go figure.Shocked

To further complicate the location issue.
I believe it is the storyline agent closest to your current location when you click complete mission.
With distribution missions you are often many jumps from the starting location.

Maybe, but not real sure. Everytime I run Foves, I get Pian Atlioncevier in Mirilene (2 jumps from Foves), a sec storyline agent that gives distribution missions, no matter where I end the mission at. Same with Lereblompes. I always get Brarel Orollede in Halle (2-3 jumps from Leremblompes), a dist storyline agent that always gives me sec missions.

So I'd have to say, it's set from where you accept the 16th mission, not the end point of it. Sometimes I even get notice before im even done running the mission.
