I'v been thinkin, since all of dem fancy ol' nullseccers are complaining how high-sec should be removed, nerfed, and some other junk I don't really care about, why don't we go burn null sector 4040fploppolo-303-hurp-derp since dey burned Jita last year. It'll only be fair since dey shot dat big monument thingy and kill some people in protest and stuff last year. We should strike back and shoot some of der asteriods with our mining barges and teach those darn null sec people a lesson.

I am for serious.

As soon as I can get this Megapulse Laser fit on my Skiff, I'm all for a mining excursion into null-sec.

Great! Those hardkore pvpers will crin-- die when they see our fleet of, orcas, retrievers, hulks, every other mining ship in the game, with drones!

They won't expect that instead of them ganking a retriever, they are gonna get ganked by the retriever! They'll be so confu-- startled they will forget to shoot their guns!

HED

Pick one, itll be a blast!

When you say "lets go get those guys" to null sec folks, you get hulkageddon, ice interdictions, suicide gank fleets, people making alt corps to attack RvB (Yea, i was in Yellow Fed lol) etc etc etc.

Say the same thing to the much more numerous High Sec community, and you get....crickets. It would seem the their is an inverse relationship between the sec status where people lives verses the relative amount of "ballsack" possessed, as one increases, the other seems to increase.

I suggest more scientific study into it, as well a sthe assignment of a cool latin sounding name such as "HighSecus Lackus Testicleus" or something.

It's because there's no guide on eve-survival for "Invading Nullsec"

And here I thought it was because they might *gasp* get shot at. Maybe even bloweded up.

Guess we should see about making that guide.

Real answer? Ok...

Nullsec has a bunch of PvP types that operate in gangs all the time.

Highsec has mostly individual/interdependent types who do their own thing their own way.

Now - let's say you were an FC and had 20k pilots willing to join up, the vast majority of which are going to go "what?" when you call for "offensive gate camp" or "defensive gate camp" or "jump on contact" as you warp through systems.

Just picture the "why are we waiting here?" questions as a scout is checking out a potential trap area or the like.

The mindset and play styles don't match and trying to convince a large group of "do my own thing" types to form up into a cohesive fleet isn't gonna end well even if you could coordinate such an effort.

That has some truth. Unless they're used to raiding, which is what Fleet mechanics essentially are.

Any miner of that mindset can figure out the command structure; roles; mechanics and how to move/fight in fleet pretty quickly.

But going in as a miner only fleet it's going to end up as a total disaster even if they can max tank and equip weapons and ECM or fighter bombers. Just like trying to form a PvP fleet without the necessary support.

On a smaller scale where a lot of the noob corp players know each other and there is a useful level of trust, they often prove adept at running roams.

Unfortunately a critical mass blob would have hilarious opsec (thousands of livestreams, alts etc), and would probably need to form up in highsec due to handholding, would struggle to travel because gating 2000 people repeatedly isn't really something that works well, and would be so full of would be awoxers that the fleet would probably collapse on contact.
