Only on a TRS-80...

I was working at a computer store in 1978 and the owner wouldn't give me a deal on an Apple, so I bought a TRS-80. He fired me, said it was like a Ford salesman driving into work in a Chevy. Loved coding on that little machine.

Primary ended yesterday, election starts tomorrow. I think we could use some primary results, perhaps?

it would be interesting to see how many endorsements we got. "Enough" isn't really very descriptive.

Yeah, a published list with the amount of endorsements per candidate would be great, especially to see just how many in the end actually made the 200 endorsement limit and who just got added because there weren't enough candidates.

An answer from CCP about the whole Fon Revedhort thing would be nice as well, but I'd settle for just the list of candidates and their endorsements for now Cool

I just want to be able to comfort myself with "well at least 200 + x people liked me" if I lose the main election Cry

This.

A list of the candidates who got the 200 votes, a list of candidates who haven't and another of candidates who were kept from running by CCP could, perhaps, be useful so we could know certain things like I dunno... who will we be able to vote for, and a few other views on the CCP side.

I mean, we already know from last year that encouraging suicide = bad. Encouraging mass murder = ?

Lao Tzu say "He who knows that enough is enough will always have enough." That of course also applies to CCP and their FONdling with the aryan supremacy issue.

I would also like to know the exact numbers of endorsements each qualified candidate received and the total number of endorsements made across the board.

Congrats to CCP for doing the right thing RE: Fon. Should've been done long ago (i.e. last year), but better late then never I guess.

So - primary results? Lol

Your first sentence has a contradiction. Everyone knows the only proper programming language is COBOL.

I couldnt agree more, binary you end up spending more time on conversions and typo checking than coding. But assembly is real coding.

As stated here and here we were told CCP would be taking steps to increase the awareness to the CSM process to improve voter turnout.

I'd like some clarification on this, because so far I see nothing.

You should be seeing some very obvious new changes as we move through the election. We wanted to focus on a full 2 weeks of visibility rather than one short burst.

Maybe you should split the top of community page with two smaller banners, one for the fanfest stream and one for the csm elections.

Well, I was to write a post on how difficult it was for me to find the voting page in its location, but apparently I can't find it... again! Oops

It's not on the EVE Online page, and it's not on the Community website ( I would *swear* that it was there...?). Where is the voting page???

EVE Gate? -no, not there
EVELopedia? - no, not there
Account management? -no, not there
Support? -no, not there
Latest expansion? -no, not there
DUST 514? -no, not there

Is it linked at the devblog on the CSM candidates? No, it isn't. Linked at the thread on the STV algorythm? Hell, don't, who needs to vote when we can just read that awesomesauce code? Is it linked at the UI interfce changes thread? No, it isn't. Is it stickied somewhere in EVE Information Portal, GD or Jita speakers corner? No, not and neither.

Well, scratch that. I've spent the last 15 minutes browsing EVE-related pages and still haven't find the voting page again. I already voted so I don't need to find it again, actually, but IMXHIO, you CCP guys got a serious visibility issue with the voting page...

PS: after asking, i noticed that it actually is in the community page, hidden in a drop down menu. Community page -> community tab -> CSM menu -> vote ( http://community.eveonline.com/community/csm/vote/ ) Guess i should use that page each now and then. Ugh

Seriously, I don't understand what's happening with the voting.

Last week CCP Dolan said they had plans to improve voter education and awareness, and they would do everything they did last year and more.

So far I see CCP doing far less, and am encountering people who have no clue this vote is going on. (I guess they didn't notice the one splash screen ad I've seen so far. And the now buried articles on the character selection screen.)

And now this voting link thing.

At this point my tinfoil hat is tingling and I am wondering if CCP is trying to sandbag this thing, but I suspect that the plans are to do the publicity at the end.

This is troublesome because awareness and education is poorly served by trying to cram it in at the last moment.

The key to getting the vote to represent the playerbase is to get more players to vote. With this new voting system this is as important as it was under the other. It was identified by many is the bigger issue than the voting system.

We can only do so much in trenches, we need your help CCP.

The only end-game content in EVE Online is the crap that makes you rage quit.
