Just looking for a bit more information on the new EVE: Online Odyssey expansion on June 4 With the new details being released about the changes to Capital Ship Maintenance Arrays meaning you'll be able to anchor them in wormholes will this mean you will be able to build a Super Cap in a wormhole but wont be able to Exit?

Thanks in advance for your reply's

Doubtful and Doubtful.. Maybe have em for cap storage but last i knew the use of so many caps in wormholes was an issue that needed to be "fixed" so doubt it

You need a system upgraded with a CSAA before you can build caps with a CSMA.

(Had to double check with null sec residents myself.)

Really?

I thought the ability to deploy caps in small numbers without having supers immediately dropped on you was one of the shining features of W-space.

Read the post clearly, or check the wiki.

A capital ship maintenance array is for storing caps. A capital ship assembly array is for building super capitals.

Standard capital ships like carriers and dreadnoughts can be built with X-Large ship assembly arrays which do not require sov and are found in wspace fairly often.

Read before you post.

CSAA's will not be deployable, CSMA will be.

Basically, the main reason behind allowing CSMA's to be put in low/null/wh space without requiring sov is simply to prevent the clusterfuck of SMA's in POS's to store capitals. This allows for the 1 CSMA to hold roughly 7 dreads or about 12 carriers or an assortment of both at any given time instead of having to deal with multiple SMA's around a POS also fixing the issue some come across, being the bouncing of capital off SMA's.

The implementation of these CSMA's into wh space doesnt have anything to do with supercapitals whatsoever.

This wil be a huge boon to wormhole dwellers. At one point my corp had 5 SMA's anchored. With this change it would simply be one big one.

Ya, I really like how they are adding this to wormhole space now, I understand of course why we weren't allowed to have capital assembly arrays (supers in wspace=terrible idea) but I never understood why they wouldn't allow us to anchor the capital storage arrays instead of having multiple smas for each individual capital it was very, very silly.

You are confusing the Capital Ship Maintenance Array with Capital Ship Assembly Array. One simply stores capital ships while the other allows you to build them. All they are doing is allowing everyone to anchor SMA for caps, not building them.

Clarification: This change affects Capital Ship Maintenance Arrays, not the Capital Ship Assembly Array that is used to build supercapital ships. CSAAs are not being changed. This change does not in any way allow supercapital ships to be constructed in lowsec or wormholes.

It's just for storage, and a welcome change at that.

Pretty sure the people I saw last night hiding in their POS with 16 SMAs will appreciate cleaning up their storage! Lol

Adding CSMAs to wormholes changes nothing other than requiring fewer SMAs to store capships. Harmless patch.

As long as there remain no plans to add CSAAs to wormholes, I'm happy.

The even better thing would be you no longer have to move within 3000m of a pos module to access stuff. Always hated bouncing between pos modules like a pinball.
