Best way of reporting inappropriate corp names?

So, throughout my days I've seen a few corp names that violate some of the rules CCP has set:
Quote:

This list was made keeping the following in mind:
Character and Corporation names may not: be racially or ethnically or sexually derogatory; contain profanity; suggest an affiliation with a real-life hate group or figurehead. Character and Corporation names may not impersonate other characters or corporations. Alternative spellings will be viewed with the same scrutiny as traditional spellings. Names used in the game are also reserved and may not be used in whole or part. Infraction of these rules may result in a mandatory name change or ban at our discretion.

What would be the best way of bringing this to CCP's attention? Bug Report? Petition?

Petition.

So you know that there is a petition function and you're really asking this question? Really? Ugh

I've done bug reports before, but I haven't petitioned, just checking to make sure petitioning would be the best option.

Sorry to check the forums to answer a question that I wasn't sure of.

Oh, don't mind Tippia. I just got back from the store with her Midol.

Really, what I'm confounded by is what on Earth would make you think that it has anything to do with bug reporting to begin with and why it would even be an option on the list? Corp names are not bugs. The coders and QA can't remove them because there's nothing wrong with the code.

If you had been unsure what petition category it should go into, I could kind of understand it¹, but between bug reports and the tool that deals with rules and infractions — viz. petitions, that you apparently know of — why would the former even remotely be a consideration…

Anyway, like I said, /cranky.

ed: ¹ it's the “Corporation names” category under the heading “Rules and policies”, btw.

Now you are just trolling.

Blocking so I don't advise you in the future.

Edit: Also, mentioning Midol is not sexist. You think women don't take it ? Or that something is wrong with them if they do, to the point it cannot even be mentioned in a humorous context ?

If I were a woman, I'd be offended. And believe me, as a gay man I know they feel about this. As well as how my 2 sisters feel about this.

I knew of it, but had only seen/heard it referenced in terms of stuck ships, and lost assets due to disconnects, stuff like that. I've never used/heard of it as rule infraction tool. Hence why I asked.

Yes calling out your sexism is trolling. Roll

And to your edit, no, mentioning Midol isn't sexist. Infering that a woman is angry or upset, or cranky, because of her period, is sexist. You didn't even realize it to begin with, and as a woman, I was offended.

Sure it is.
The whole “woman complaining → must be on her period” is thoroughly sexist, and a humorous context doesn't change this — it just make it a sexist joke (and poor taste). The fact that you made the joke about someone who's not a woman just makes it worse: “someone is complaining → must be a woman → must be on her period” manages two counts in one blow.

Oh, and OP: when in doubt about petitions, just dig around. There are categories for most things you could imagine and they're mostly intuitive enough to guess what goes where, unless you've come across something that's especially odd or related to some particularly obscure paragraph in the EULA.

Why would you want to petition a corp name? Let me guess it offends you? Call a Waaaahhhmbulance, HTFU. Don't like the name, don't join it.

Of all the things in this game to complain about, someone's corp name in not amongst them.

MMORPG- Multiple Men Online Role Playing as Girls?

Your pic kind of lends to the fact you are a woman. If you aren't a woman, and in fact a man playing as one, good luck being offended by having a midol comment applied to you.

Anywho, yea, OP, use petition. Put in the report you are offended because of the name and make sure you put the correct drop down options in.

Petition.

Sexism and racism are sometimes realities of teh internets. But its important IMHO for Eve not to become a bastion and haven for hate, misogyny, and intolerance, so CCP would do well to keep them at bay.

There's an abundance of panties in a bunch in this thread.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Am I the only one who noticed the name of the plaintiff is "PinkKnife?" I'm sure there are a hundred possible meanings for it, but the first one I, a lvl 80 Internet pervert, can think of is more than a little phallic.

It's amazing how upset some people get when you suggest to them that, just maybe, the casual subjugation and oppression of half of humanity isn't a particularly good thing, isn't it? Or how offended they are at the mere notion that maybe rules aren't made to be broken…
