18 from memory and mysteriously thats also the minimum age for the fanfest venue... means they don't need to ask for id. ;)

I hope there will be a shuttle service from the Starbase to Captain Quarters. Because my Spaceship will be at maintenance this time!
The new Starbase is 2-3km away from the Captains Quarter called Cabin and Co.
Otherway the Spacetaxi was great and cheap! I remember only small peaces of Pub-Crawling...Nice Photos!
This year i will stay a few days longer, to take a better look on Iceland!

Interesting.

This years fanfest will be less about where the company's headed for the future and new advancements in the game,

And more about how they have to fix all the things that have been broken this past year.

The most important thing they have to fix.

Player relations.

Im betting attendance will be way down this year. But of the players that do go. Come with an agenda. Go to round tables and really bend the devs ears about what needs to get done.

CCP hasn't listened to us for the longest time, yet they did know they were doing somethings right as attendance steadily rose at fanfest.

Maybe when they look out at key note and see the hundreds of empty chairs, or worse, get boo'd by the crowd, they'll finally see the light and grip the gravity of the situation there in.

I wanted to got to fanfest for the past two years. This is the first time I've been able to go and now have absolutely no desire to go this year considering all thats happened.

CCP Eve has so much potential, please dont miss manage it into the ground before it hits its prime, over a game that cant function without eve, and tfor a game that hasn't even been created yet, and whose player base isn't guaranteed.

Fanfest is about celebrating EvE not CCP, honestly regarding what happened I'll go anyway, to meet players and have fun with them, for this reason only you should go !

from the News section of the character selection screen....

" we are attempting too many things for a company our size. Developing EVE expansions, DUST 514 and World of Darkness has stretched our resources too thin."

"Sadly, this means reducing our staff. We estimate that around twenty percent of global positions will be affected by this process. "

Your answer to being spread too thin is to get rid of people ?

Personally I would have put World of Dorks on the back burner, fixed EvE and worked at getting Dust done right. Guess I'll never understand business practices. What?

I'm planning on attending the 2012 fanfest, this will be my first time so I'm sitting here checking everything for prices on the tickets aswell as the Iceland air packages, if anyone can give me an estimate of what the prices could run for that old be great because i would like to actually be in iceland for fanfest 2012 and not at home behind my computer watching it, don't get me wrong the coverage was awesome but I would feel better beeing there.

Same here, i've sat for the past 2 years watching it and this year, i have planned to be there. even if i go roam Iceland solo, i'll be there.

Loads of time to save for it/arrange time off etc, but a monetary goal would be good.

Fanfest vets, how much do you bring?

Dont mind me,  just touching your stuff.

As an EVE Radio envoy, I will be making the trip this year as well, and bringing my rig along so that I may broadcast live from Fanfest.

I hope to see you all there, fellow capsuleers!

Hoping to make 2012 the first time I make it to FanFest. From what I can see on travel sites, the trip would be at the upper end of affordability for me. Like some previous posters, I would like to have a general idea of what amount of fundage I would need to not just attend FanFest ... but to have a good amount of fun too.

Any advice from those who have attended before?

BTW: Holy long layovers at JFK, Batman! 10.5 hours on the way there, and 16 hours on the return trip. Total outbound trip (MSP->JFK->KEF) time 19 hours, total inbound trip (KEF->JFK->MSP) time 25 hours. Whee! Will be my first time in New York City too ... any advice on what to do during my layovers?

lol

Very nice. I'll have to remember that for my own layover.

In other news...

"CCP is proud to announce our first official Fanfest hotel partner, Center Hotels. Great deals for Fanfest attendees in all of their 5 first class hotels, all in the heart of Reykjavík, close to the new Harpa Fanfest venue.

The deal is: stay 3 nights or longer and get 1 night free!"
