I would actually welcome CCP doing something like that so the PvP population can understand industry. If you keep killing the goose with the golden egg, the golden eggs will be rare. Once they're rare, no amount of moon goo can buy what doesn't exist.

Economics 101.

PvPers aren't mining because they'll be bored of it in 1hr. But somehow, somewhere they think ships just pop up from nowhere and for free. Like PLEX or even moon goo can mysteriously pay for something that won't exist -- as they sure not going to stop PvPing to mine.

It's why generals had to have cannon fodder.

It's also why when I read these threads about tears and more, I laugh, because if they kill the golden gooses and forced to mine...guess who becomes the new prey.

as long as ship prices fall too, im okay with this.

And the PvPer (they tend -- in multiple MMOs -- cry if they have to grind anything even kills) is willing to mine in the first place.

I came to EvE to build things since I know PvPers aren't into that stuff. I also know they often only think for themselves and will try kill the lowest hanging fruit to them. The result is...more profit...as like the settlers of old that chopped down whole forests to build a city, they learned a harsh lesson about conservation and the cost of importing the goods they destroyed.

Now if only CCP put in conservation of resources as a mechanic (they won't because the cries about anything but pewpewpew would be deafening).
