killed a guy the other day named (no frickin joke here) "o7o7o7o7o7 m8m8m8m8m8"

At least he was trying...something? Poor Bortrerb here didn't even bother. Hopping on the "petition boner corp's stupid name" bandwagon now.

I checked the previous name and it seemed extremely tame to me....pretty normal. Meh..

It's unfortunate that players aren't prompted to rename. Hopefully a petition can remedy that...otherwise I feel that it's discouraging to players.

Or maybe players should actually try to use their braincells when making a name in the first place.

If you can't do that...well live with the consequences.

Well, the name is a matter of opinion. An opinion nothing more or less.

My concern with the action is the process..the process in which the name is changed. Some people invest considerable affection for their character/names. I don't care what my characters name is as all of my characters are bought and are simply place holders to me.

I felt the process to rename the character could use better player interaction. I feel as though it can only improve/support player/ccp relations. The current method may breed animosity.

I find the process unfortunate, not the name.

Like all of the other threads created by OP, this one has massive potential.

Well, it certainly is his best thread so far.

My siren's name is Brick and she is the prettiest.

2. Be respectful toward others at all times.

The purpose of the EVE Online forums is to provide a platform for exchange of ideas, and a venue for the discussion of EVE Online. Occasionally there will be conflicts that arise when people voice opinions. Forum users are expected to be courteous when disagreeing with others.

5. Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is a defined as a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting other players in an attempt to incite retaliation or an emotional response. Posts of this nature are disruptive, often abusive and do not contribute to the sense of community that CCP promote.

13. Pyramid quoting is prohibited.

Pyramid quoting is a response to a forum thread that contains the quotes of four or more previous posters, sometimes with additional spaces added unnecessarily. This kind of posting often distorts the layout of the forums and can cause issues with readability for some users.

22. Post constructively.

Negative feedback can be very useful to further improve EVE Online provided that it is presented in a civil and factual manner. All users are encouraged to honestly express their feelings regarding EVE Online and how it can be improved. Posts that are non-constructive, insulting or in breach of the rules will be deleted regardless of how valid the ideas behind them may be. Users are also reminded that posting with a lack of content also constitutes non-constructive posting.

Matters pertaining to a character's name is a discussion best left to petitioning, so that the issue may be resolved properly. As this thread has broken quite a few rules, it will be closed. Thank you.
