EvE is like rock paper scissors with also shotguns

Every ship is either a rock, a paper, or a scissor. Then there are tier3 BCs which are shotguns.

Once you get a few of them, they counter almost everything.

I like how they can shoot so much DPS so far, and at the same time be faster than half the t1 cruisers in the game. Who needs tank when you just kill anything that runs away from you and run away from anything that wants to kill you? Roll

On a related note, Moros is as close to dev hacks as you can get in EVE...

Attack/Tier3 BC are shotguns with actions made of glass at best. Anyone who has flown them know a couple frigates less than half your expense can very quickly rain on your parade of terror and destruction...infact your average rock, paper or scissors can easily smash your supposed shotgun to bits... 1/10 for a butt-hurt troll....

The only thing that T3's can 1-shot are un-tanked cruisers, frigates and other T3's. This means that, yes, they are best when used in large numbers. In eve generally you have to choose between.

Tank (active or buffer)
Damage (both range or tracking and DPS)
Mobility (top speed Vs Agility)

Normally you can pick 2 of these on any particular ship - or half of all 3. Tier3's are the perfect example of this. The talos if one of the few exceptions imo - it has damage and projection to 30km (which is generally engagement range), a reasonable buffer tank (rivals a HAC) and has very good mobility and has drones to defend it against frigates. The drones are the game-breaking part of it.

Regardless, they do what battleships do but are more mobile and less survivable. Isk for Isk, you take more Tier3's up against less BS's with similar isk value, the BS's will win... they have the same DPS as one another but a BS has 5-10 times more EHP.

Its rock, paper, scissors, shotgun, wrecking ball.

rock beats scissors
scissors beats paper
paper beats rock
shotgun beats 1 rock, but dies to 10 scissors
wrecking ball beats shotgun and paper but dies to 20 papers and 40 rocks.

its simple.

I laugh at all the noobs who think that since a frigate can kill a tier3 BC one on one that makes them balanced.

Sounds like rock beat shotgun

Im guessing this post has something to do with the caracal that got bbq'd by a 6 man bricksquad nado/naga gang....sorry dude but odds were not in your favor...pretty much 6 of anything vs one of you was going to win.

Frigates are just the cheapest example of a solo counter to a T3. Pretty much anything that can point one can kill it. A single TD can totally ruin a T3's day. Infact for the price I'd say T3's are probably one of the riskiest ships to fly in terms of how quickly one little mistake leads to a loss mail. There is not enough tank for any forgiveness of piloting sins. I know when Im out on frigate roams and see one solo on scanner my friends and I pretty much consider it a donated km...

Nice one.

Seems like they will be getting a slap on the wrists though.

You realize that happened near a month ago? I didn't even know what you were talking about so I had to go through my own losses to see what you were on about. 6v1 doesn't work? Thanks captain obvious.

But no. The worst part about these ships is that they give the cowards fangs. And I can't even begin to say how many times I've had some tier3 warp to a safespot at 70kms and just shoot. No tackle what so ever. I just tank their damage for a few, shake my head and warp off.

I don't understand what kind of fulfillment these players get from doing that, but the gameplay it creates is just plain boring. Everybody (in 0.0 anyways) is only willing to fight if they are at extreme sniping range. Before these ships came out, if somebody wanted to fight you they'd have to actually get close and force a fight, instead of sitting far away praying that for some silly reason I don't warp off.

I thought people only linked that fit to impress noobs in starter systems.

Obviously I was mistaken, lol. *eye roll*

Everytime I play spock people whine about spock being overpowered.

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

Hmmm, what do you think the critical point (in numbers) for Tier 3s being uncounterable is? In small gangs, they're most certainly counterable and I feel highly confident in taking them on. I'd say that the problem probably starts in the "large gang" territory, but I've seen too many times where 5 intrepid bomber pilots obliterate entire fleets of Tier 3s. I even saw a recent example of a small T3 fleet vs a large Tier 3 fleet where the small fleet won.

So... where's the critical point?
