★★★★★ SOLO C3 MAELSTROM ANOMS ★★★★★

THE FIT

Hey guys. Have been asked a lot recently about solo C3 ships and I never see this option anywhere. Hopefully can help some of you that dont want to spend billions of ISK on something that is inevitably going to get ganked.

Requires salvage alt

I have been living in a c2 with c3 static for 2 weeks now, something I learnt quickly living in wormhole space is that you have to be able to do sites on your own. I have tried Tengu, Legion, Sleipnir and I can say with confidence that this ship will do the sites quicker.

Yes it does require cap booster's but when you are finished with the site you just warp your Noctis alt in and re-fill. This process takes 1 extra minute per site. Just make sure you are stocked up :).

Stats All 5
DPS--------1001 RF EMP with hobgoblins
TANK-------750 DPS
CAP---------71% Stable with 800's
RESS-------62%/63/72/77
Range------40KM - Use EMP and learn where the sleepers spawn

How To

USE THIS

Use the above guide to see what sleepers are the triggers (very important). Take a Blue pill with you just in case you do spawn everything, because you were looking at your wallet rather that what not to kill. You wont be able to kill frigates with BS guns, use the web & the Hobbies to kill frigs. If you keep the web on the frigs, they will never shoot your drones. You wont need to use cap boosters until the difficult spawns.

Have fun and remember you are not alone.

+1!

Odyssey: Repacking in POS hangars for modules +1,  but please for other stuff too, especially containers. Make containers openable in POS hangars.

"You wont be able to kill frigates with BS guns"

While not quick and efficent a bit of direction changing to get NPC frigs into low transversals situations and you can usually alpha frigs away even with a 1400mm arty maelstrom. Not that I'd reccomend doing it as an alternative to sticking drones on them.

Not too bad but I did revise this fit a little bit to give me something cheaper and just as effective....

.. Then I revised it a little bit more...

.. then a bit more...

then...

Oh look I'm in a drake.

This fit looks like a good alternative to the typical Drake/Tengu setups.

Thanks for the positive posts guys. As you said its something different and its good to mix it up. Obviously the drake works but they seem to take an age. With two of these we were doing sites in 5-8 mins.

I do have a question though

We have some members in the corp with low sp characters who cant really solo these sites. Our plan is to have a Scimitar with a local shield booster & 3 large shield transporters so people can bring any shield buffer ship and join in. Has anyone had experience with using a Logistics ship in a C3 without having second Logi.

The fit can only tank 332 Dps but the signature radius is 65m. Would this be able to tank a c3 Annom?

Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, again. Cap boosters?
Whatever you may save in site running you waste it in isk and in logistics.

It's great that you've come up with this.

I can see it helping a lot of people just getting started in W-space.

But you are going to blow through a LOT of money doing this. More than it's probably worth realistically.

You could do a lot better from an economic standpoint of getting some friends in Prophesies and a guardian or two and using Drones to do your killing. Saving you ISK on ammo and Cap charges.

That's nothing to say about the inevitability of losing what looks like a rather expensive Maelstrom in comparison to say, a Drake or Prophecy.

First off, I like the fit in your original post...enough that I just may try it; because it is DIFFERENT.

At one point, yes I flew a solo scimi in C3's doing the anom's. I used an ab buffer fit tho;

[Scimitar, Solo AB]
Power Diagnostic System II
Capacitor Power Relay II
Capacitor Power Relay II
Damage Control II

10MN Afterburner II
Large Shield Extender II
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Conjunctive Ladar ECCM Scanning Array I

Large S95a Partial Shield Transporter
Large S95a Partial Shield Transporter
Large S95a Partial Shield Transporter
Medium S95a Partial Shield Transporter

Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I
Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I

Warrior II x5
Hornet EC-300 x4

Just manual pilot, keeping transversal up while keeping fleet in rep range. Stay out of neuting BS range as much as possible...as well as the webbers. I found that once targeted, the sleepers would tire of me and switch to someone else before hitting 50% shields. Above fit is cap stable at 46% at max skill; if you are still worried about cap, swap the eccm for a cap recharger.

The cap boosters would be a pain if you lived in a wormhole not connected to High sec. But you will have to get your loot out and ammo in anyway so what would be the problem in getting an extra load of cap boosters? You use on average say 5 cap boosters per site (with my skills). If you had a c3 that had 20 sites inside you would use 100 Cap boosters. You can haul 500-700 in a small indy ship which will last you a while. We live in a C2 statics c3 & High so there are no excuses for logistics.

And I do not think cost is an issue because 500-700 cap boosters is like 5-6m if i remember right. And as you just made 800m-1B ISK from the 20 sites, I think you would get over that pretty fast.

I know what you mean, we have done the sites with two logistics and armor PvP ships with lots of dps, but we did the sites in about the same time as the solo maelstrom. Also the maelstrom is for people who want to do the sites on there own, not have to wait for potentially 3 other people to log on. Independence is everything.......unless you like ship spinning :).

Thanks very much for the fit mate, going to be giving this a go today, just with a active tank rather than a passive one. Will let you know how it goes.

Don't forget your ammo, and ships and mods you are going to lose doing sites. And you are going to lose them. Specially if you are starting doing whs.
I'm not saying its crap, I don't like it, burn it with fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiireeeeeeeee!
I don't like what it involves. But if there could be a way around that, it would be a ten.

Its not appreciably more expensive than a typical solo tengu fit, and also has comparable tank and DPS. Good enough. I don't understand the domination SBA though, T2 is better. Its not like the fit is tight on CPU.

For a solo scimitar, You will want 2 maybe 3 other ships with the remote shield transporter module on their ship and you will have to keep a tight orbit around them. Most sites it is no problem, but for the ones with 1300 dps with webs you will go down pretty fast. The 2-3 remote shield transporters are rarely used but when they are used they are definately needed. ATM we have our Logi pilot dual boxing to make things super easy.

**EDIT SOLO SCYTHE is what I meant to say. With a scimitar I'd imagine you would have higher resists so you would not need quite so many with remote reps probably just 1.
