Hey guys,

This is probably a real noob question but here goes...

I've been playing around with the free download of FRAPS and can capture video and sound but the resolution is really poor when I play it back. I can't see anything obvious to help in the settings. Is this just because it's the free version?

Thanks for any help!

What it sounds like to me is that you need to export the file to a different file type. For instance, I use a program called handbrake to export my fraps footage into smaller files on my hard drives. Secondly, when looking at raw footage (fraps files) the quality will be somewhat poor and it will look like stop motion footage (or a video with a bunch of lag). But once you export the file to say .mp4, it will look better and be smaller file size.

^^ my raw fraps video is always pretty good quality

my settings in fraps are:
-29.97 fps
-full size
-lock framerate while recording
-record win7 sound is turned off
-loop buffer 30 seconds

game settings are set to high across the board
