I have not been the greatest eve player. Since I have started playing the game, it has always been 6 months lapses.

Once again, after 8 months of being inactive, I am trying to get back in to Eve. My character is 15m SP, mostly drone invested.

I have read the changes addressing to AI and how drone boats are affected by this. Since day one, I was using drone boats. Sometimes fully active, sometimes semi afk (my job allowed me to play semi afk state - lvl4 missioning).

Now I am back at empire and trying to figure out which step to take next. I like PVE, my main focus was null space anomalies (rattlesnake) and lvl 4 missions (dominix) at 0.5 before that. Never was interested in PvP in eve.

So I am here with my dominix, trying to understand what to do next. I was thinking about level 4 missions again, but as I read the AI mechanics have changed and rats are acting differently toward the drones now. I did 1 mission and i had to collect and launch drones like crazy and hated it.

What is the solution to this? How can I mission in a drone boat efficiently again? I mean no one would enjoy constantly dropping and collecting drones. Is drone boats are doomed for good? If so, what should I do, start training for another type of ship?

Beside that, what would be the alternative to level 4 missions? 0.5 sec anomalies would be fun or rewarding? I don't want to go back to null just yet, so looking forward to get this toon back on her feet and try to make a living once again.

Thanks in advance for taking the time.

I've read that sentry drones don't draw as much aggro from rats, but I haven't actually tried using them since the change so I'm not sure. I stopped being drone focused since before the changes, because I was tired of my drones not following my orders. Try a sentry + rails Navy Dominix if you haven't already.

Hisec anomalies are generally a waste of time. But the sites found with probes can be quite good. You could try probing for exploration complexes in an Ishtar to make some good ISK. It can fit 5 sentries if I remember correctly. Other than that my suggestion would be to train Minmatar ships and projectiles. With Gallente and Minmatar battleships trained up you'll be able to fly a Machariel in missions, or better yet, incursions.

Incursions are viable way of making ISK right now? I remember they are being bashed really hard? My other toon can pilot a decent fit megathron.

Is there a guide i can follow for Incursions? I have no idea about them at all.

I bumped my forum thread back to page one, https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2632742#post2632742
most of the Incursion communities more helpful runners keep track of that thread and will be able to help you get into a fleet and start making ISK as quickly as possible.

Things that keep me up at night;  Why do we use a voice communication device to send telegraphs? Moore's Law should state, Once you have paid off the last PC upgrade you will need another.

Throw an RR on your domi and use sentries. Sentries can tank surprisingly well. And anything shooting your sentry isn't shooting you.

sentries are still viable, although you still need to keep an eye on them. Heavy drones and mediums get plenty of hate. Elite frigates are much quicker to go after drones than other ships, putting 5 warriors against 5 elite frigs turns into a dogfight where both sides die.
