How useful is training this skill past level 1? Playing around with EFT seems to indicate that it doesn't make nearly as much difference as training thermodynamics to 4 or 5. Anybody else have experience with overheating on T3s with different levels of these skills?

EDIT: ****, I meant to post this in Skill Discussions

pve? dont bother.

pvp. get it to 4 i would say. any skill worth training is worth to train to 4 at least. 5 is usually more debatable and dependant on what else you wish to train (you know.. apart from the ones like logistics etc).

The skills work together. Get both to IV and call it done.

I've overheated a Tengu many, many times. All I can tell you is, If you're in a situation where you HAVE to overheat, you're gonna want all the time you can get.
I have considered training the skill to V tbh.
Level III is so short to get to, that would be the minimum imo.

Seriously. I overheat my T3s regularly -- in PvE. The extra little bit it gives you is absolutely priceless whether it's just enough tank to make it through peak damage or just enough extra gank to pull down an overseer that much faster. I have all of them at 4; they'll be going to 5 when I get back to a Per/Will map.

Isn't overheating your expensive (shield booster / armor repper) extremely expensive to repair afterwards?

Mods are super cheap to repair. You have to work pretty hard to run up a 100k repair bill.
