My favorites are the Militia with incorrect overview setups who leave the plex when I warp in - leaving me very little of the timer to run. :)

I often get paid out on mediums for only 1-2 min of button spinning.

Yeah...

I'll check employment histories first. If I see they're a week old character with only the newb corp and the NPC militia corp in their history they'll get asked to leave before I shoot. Roll

There are douchebags in all walks of life. The anonymity of the intarwebs bring out the inner douchebag of those too chicken-sh!t to do it in real life. Someone drops in on my plexes I just leave; I have no desire to share the LP when I'm plexing.

Shooting someone else in your militia (unless they are clearly awoxers or douchebags like Cynthia's alts) is just f***ing wrong and messed up. I'm in the preparation phase of PvP, been reading alot and practicing with different modules and what not.

Anyhow, just reading stuff like this gives great insight into EVE pvp. Not so much that people shooting their own milita happens, but the fact that not a single person mentions the arrival of what should be a team mate as a good thing. Or even that finding another "team" mate is a good thing. Instead the instant inclination in this game is to run??? That's what the census here is stating afterall.

Seriously, I'm a pvp newb, but wouldn't the idea be to form fleets with the people you meet since you're both after the same goal anyhow??? AND THEN.... get this... If you encounter a "real" enemy, not a "team" mate you could then fight as a group, and maybe stand a better chance of winning right?

I still plan on giving it a try someday, but all I can say is greedy ****s are not fun to play with.

There are a lot of people in EveO that play on the basis of FPS game, and not the largely social aspect of this game. Sure, a "teammate" member of your faction may drop by... but if he arrives with alts or neutrals, chances are you're about to die. Period. Play with the assumption that anyone you meet out in space that you can't clearly overpower will try to kill you; it's all about the killmail for many.

EVE will change the way you look at games. This isn't just an issue of EVE having a ton of team killers in it. If I go make a Caldari alt does that make my alt your teammate? My main interests still lie with the Gallente and if I've gone to the trouble of making that alt it's probably for the purpose of spying, sabotage, or something else not very team oriented from the Caldari perspective.

People team up and play with members of their corp, alliance, or individuals who have gone through some kind of reasonably reliable vetting process because its just too easy for me to make that alt.

As I mentioned, Being attacked by people on the same side in general doesn't surprise me exactly for the reasons you mentioned. I would expect that type of spy activity by people who actually did FW for FW.

I guess it's more about intentions. If you do what you mentioned then you have a team oriented intention somewhere that has some consistency to it. I am more surprised at the number of comments showing how many players have no intention of fighting on any team level at all, and just want solo rewards even if friendlies are involved. It's just kinda disappointing to know what I have to look forward to at the thought of even venturing in FW.

I'm sure it's alot of factors. Maybe a prerequisite for such an involved MMO is for everyone to have a RL job or something. I don't have the time or the interest to resort to such time consuming BS metagame tactics, and I won't be trying to PvP on 2 computers at the same time. Damn the internet lol.

Mate don't be put off by the bitterness among the vets trolling these forums.

I play pretty much how you describe it above. With one creveat. I'm always ready to defend myself against an agressor (even if he is 'allied' to me because he's in the same militia)

There are awoxers and douches all over eve but it doens't mean you need to follow bittervet advice and become one. As long as you accept it that you will lose ships to these players from time to time then you'll do fine.

And if you do get awoxed just red the player, keep an eye out and blap him first next time, Eve has consequence. The reason there are awoxers and douches is that the majority of eve lets them behave that way by basically ignoring them. This is'nt kindergarden where ignoring action stops the child from coninuing to do it for atention. Blap them more Twisted

After all that is the point of pvp....to shoot stuff Cool

A standings hit. Eventually you or your corp will drop too low and be removed from FW if its done often.

Ujio, most people I play with are in their 20's or 30's with professional jobs. While this game can be 'serious business' to many, it isn't a requirement to devote 40+ hours a week to it. While FW may be an isk farmland to some, there are still plenty of us who will PVP with you in good spirit whether flying with you or against you.

Wait until you have some bad experiences. I warped into a plex with a Minnie in it. I immediately burned off as some Caldari chased me in. I convoed him and asked if he would fight. We fight and killed them off. I then sat there for a bit and relaxed as he didn't seem like an awoxer. Next thing I know he is at 0 on me and has my kitey ship scramed and webbed. It only takes a few bad apples like this, but it happens.

Correct.

I just can't get the hang of this faction warfare caper. No matter how long I sit in the plex the little bar just refuses to move. I get so irritated that I just HAVE to engage the next person who warps in!

It can be really annoying when I spend 10+ billions to set up frigates, destroyers and cruisers for multiple accounts, spending hours to sort everything out and then some casual... player who can only be described with a very inappropiate 4 letter word jumps in at the last 30 seconds to waste my time, his time and the whole militia's time (he could be running another one).

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value
