I've been out of game for a while due to a number of reasons, including interest in another game. PvE is a nice break once in a while, but I have to say that the company running the game is a very sore reminder of how well CCP does in regards to actually being in touch with the playerbase. I don't know that I realized how much effort they put out via devblogs, and direct communication, until I started playing elsewhere.
Inspite of the conspiracies about goons and all that, CCP still is top dog when it comes to having the balls to communicate with their playerbase and actually make changes to their plans based on the feedback they receive.

Out of pod, where threads come to die and a thread annoyed about it took 4 days to be taken down as it was discussing moderation. It was complaining about the lack of moderation in OOPE.

another one i really liked for communication with players was Trendy Entertainment.
They made dungeon defenders which i actually loved XD

But on the steampowered forums they always have posts from devs, even in the silly topics and suggestion threads.
Any new dlc for the game is also released free for the first week or so. Thus existing (active) players get it for nothing. How sweet is that!
