What would you save them for, if at all?

Would you just use them asap, if you had them?

Is there any reason to keep them, other than a possible itching to pursue a different career someday?

i personally dumped my unused skills into caldari bs level 5 and cruiser missile launchers level 5 so i was able to do level 4s more efficently in a raven on the spot

yes i used cruises, not torps :)

Why, what's the difference?

Sorry, I'm a big newb just resubscribed, and I'm just now really starting to learn. :(

Depends on current utility vs. long-term potential. I put mine into trade skills as I knew it was unlikely I'd be remapping to a charisma heavy attribute mix.

1 million skillpoints dumped into skills you would train at 2k sp/hr saves you 20.3 days of training.

1 million skillpoints dumped into skills you would train at 2.4k sp/hr saves you 17.3 days of training.

Choosing something off your current mapping (if you're in it for a long time) or that optimally trains in a mapping you're unlikely to do is more efficient.

Boosting your effectiveness for something you're doing now or getting into something you want to do sooner can have a different, but equally valid, utility for you.

Ravens (T1 caldari battleship) use cruise missiles, as do their upgrade the CNR

Golems (T2 Caldari battleships) and Stealth Bombers (T2 frigates) use Torpedos

Both useful, depending on what you want to do

I save mine for rainy days.

I throttle my skills with remaps to speed up training. Every once-in-a-while I need a skill that is out of my plan. The extra SP lets me insta-train siad skill to one or two. Otherwise I would waste time and have less SP.

I was mapped for perc/will (another 8 mths to remap) & was working on skills with those attributes.

I stuck my ~3.5 mil into intel/mem (Engineering/Mechanic) skills.

Best thing ever. CCP DID RIGHT BY GETTING RID OF LEARNING SKILLS.

I dumped mine into skills which have charisma as the primary attribute ( categories: leadership, trade, social, and some PI), as they are the most inefficient skills to train.

I still have some leftover, which I'll use the next time I get podded in a T3 ship.

being the carbare sort of type I put mine in marauders 5. it would have taken an awefully long time to train
