So, I recently got my 3 monitor gaming rig up and running. EVE looks AMAZING. AHHHMAAAAZINGGGG!!

Only complaint I have is with some of the nebula. At such a high resolution, some of the Nebula have pixilated features. I know this has been brought up before, though not in F&I.

What would everyone think to high resoluton texture packs for spacescapes?

Got the same resolution over here. And it does not only look amazing. This game can look so good I'd go this far and call it an eyegasm.

But my personal downsides are:
- I cannot zoom out far enoug to see all my Rattlesnake in its full glory.
- The login screen shows some pixelation issues.

Want another "Holy frickin' Moly" moment? Turn your monitors by 90 degrees.
This is what EvE can look like! And you have so much more space for the local-list. Blink

It's a field of view problem. I run 6040x1080 (bezel adjusted). The game doesn't adjust it's horizontal field of view when you use a multi-monitor setup. If you switch back to 1920x1080 and compare, you'll see what I mean.

You're not actually seeing more space with the three monitors. The space you get on one is stretched to fill all three. And your vertical viewspace is much more limited because of that.

I posted a thread about this a while ago, but I don't know if it ever got a response. That's actually what I'd come in here to check on.

This demonstrates what I mean perfectly.

It might be stretched, but its more immersive to me. It feels like space is supposed to feel. Big and massive.

I also think it depends on the environment. I just tested this in CQ. In 1920 x 1080, I could not see that CQ door from where I was standing, but in 5760 I could see the door and the opposite wall. So it looks like it is in fact more real estate being shown. In space however, you are correct, it is a stretched image.

Don't know why CCP would optimize CQ to take advantage of multiple monitor set ups yet not do the same for space environments.

It doesn't make space feel "big and massive" to me--to me, it makes me feel like I'm squinting. I went back to 1920x1080 and using other monitors for other things (or other accounts...) instead of spanning across all three monitors.

It's true that the viewport does not increase but gets scaled down vertically.

Surely this works better in FPS or racing games AND its a matter of personal choice if you like this or that a bit more. Luckily there are so many things do to with so much free space on the desktop.

Yea in racing simulators, 3 monitors is almost mandatory.

It would be nice to get some sort of official response on this subject, even if it's just "Yeah, we know. We might fix it, we might not."

I just reactivated three accounts the other day and I wish I had not. I thought that after the 8 years that crossfire has been available that CCP would do something to fix this, and I know it is not a hard fix because I commonly make my own fixes for other games, however because of how closed the EVE source is there is just nothing I can do to fix it myself, so CCP please either fix this or open some **** up so we can fix this ourselves.

It's absolutely not a difficult fix. It would take someone 20 minutes to find the relevant block of code and make the necessary changes.

I'm just not even sure CCP realizes that this something some people care about.

Exactly! Nothing difficult about this at all. CCP needs to start paying attention. This is one of the reasons I quit a few years ago
