Between battle clinic and these forums information on the comet is sparse. I've fallen in love with this ship, for whatever reason, and am currently running a pve speed sig tank that has been working well enough to rat in low sec. Having around 10 mil sp, I like being to warp out when problems.... Appear.

The problem is, I'm not sure if my setup is as efficient as it could be. Ayone have any advice on skills, mods, techniques, and fits for this ship for pve and speed sig tanking?

Cheers.

It'll help if you can post how you are currently fitted.

Sure thing. I'm still learning... always.

[Federation Navy Comet]
Overdrive System Injector II
Overdrive System Injector II
Nanofiber internal structure II
Inertia Stabilizers II

Cold-Gas I Arcjet Thrusters
X5 Prototype I engine enervator
Warp Disrupter II

Anode Light Neutron Particle Cannon I
Anode Light Neutron Particle Cannon I
Prototype Cloaking Device I

Small Capacitor Control Circuit I
Small Auxiliary Thrusters I
Small Low Friction Nozzle Joints I

I usually orbit cruisers and battleships around 1000m and have a velocity of 1km/s with no problem hitting with blasters. Every shot from the rats are a miss. I keep the PVP mods loaded in case I have to commit to other things. Truthfully, I still have no idea what I'm doing.

Pretty bad.

5 speed mods(badly stacking penalised).
Ab with web but no scram.
No dmg mods.
CCC rig. (pointless here).

Either go active armor or plate. Fit a scram. Drop useless rigs.

Blasters, nos, ab, web, scram, plate, dc2, mag stabs.

The overdrives aren't penalized with the istab or nano, he's only getting a single penalty with 5 mods. Afterburners are penalized with anything but armor plates.

Definitely want a scrambler though.

That's what I thought going into it. Why the Scram? The CCC rig should be dropped for something... what suggestion (understanding I want the CAP to remain stable).

Thanks for the input.

Why scram? To stop your target/attackers mwd.

If you are webbed and using ab, they are webbed and using mwd, they may be faster. If you are abing in a frig that's not a dramielz its a good idea to for a web and scram if possible, to try to ensure you are faster than your target, either to keep your speed up for orbit, or to make a break for it.

Oh, and scram uses less cap than disruptor, so it will help with cap stability and perhaps let you drop the CCC for a hybrid damage rig.
