This is in line with Gallente capitalism. For Gallente, the accumulation of wealth is something that is done on an individual level and personal wealth only matters in comparison to the wealth of other individuals - a stark contrast with Caldari capitalism for the people.

Jacus Roden founds a company called Roden Shipyards.

President Souro Foiritan attempts to nationalize this and many other companies under Gallente Executive Order 81042. This leads to a rebellion that costs Foiritan the next election to none of other than Jacus Roden.

Today the Federation now finds itself in a state of war, and Roden Shipyards is cranking out ships for that war.

The funny thing about businessmen... they always look at the price tag but they never consider the cost.

As I have stated before, President Roden was a robber baron before becoming the president and he remains one after his presidency. He is not the only party benefiting from this ongoing war though, and neither is the Federation. It's the unfortunate truth of it.

I do not endorse President Roden either. Foiritan was a far better president.

Someone.

Makes me wonder who did vote for him, then? I still like to think that Gallente elections are more honest than some people's.

So when is the next election, then? If it's soon enough there may still be hope...

Climb down from your moral high horse before you get a nosebleed, Luftschreck. Quit trying to blame the woes of the cluster and all wars on the Federation.

In case you didn't notice there are plenty of others besides Roden who are making money from selling war machines; Kaalakiota, Lai Dai, Thukker Mix, Carthum and yes, even Sarum come quickly to mind.

When the world is running down, you make the best of what's still around.

Funny you should mention that... do you know what we happen to sell over at RAEC in large quantities?

Who ever said that was blaming the Federation? I'm blaming human nature. The basic behavior of human beings when left to do whatever they want. It doesn't matter what nation they come from.

And I'm not on any kind of moral high-horse today. I'm just pointing out that no one deserves a moral high horse in this conflict.

Have you ever seen me yelling "Amarr Victor?" Or any media-crafted political rallying cry? No, you haven't, because I understand the human need for war, power and control. I just don't try to dress it up as anything other than that.

The only propaganda I subscribe to is that a person can be conditioned to overcome these base instincts if raised in the proper environment & with the proper education, and I'm pretty sure you know exactly which kind I endorse. That is the alpha & omega of my political preaching: People just suck... at least until they're taught how to be otherwise.

A little slow to the party but welcome Luftschreck.

Roden won an election in dubious circumstances with a simple policy of removing the Leviathan from a Federal system. Since his inception he has reinforced the Federal Navy with ships from Roden production, they bear the Shipyard logo and unique paintjob. He has geared the Federation from Foritain's more progressive and peaceful administration into a warlike mentality that consumes vast amounts of military hardware.

And guess who they're getting a large cut of it from?

As I said before, this Gallente/Caldari conflict favours three groups, and Roden's in two of them.

When your gut instincts tell you something is wrong, trust them. When your heart tells you something is right, ignore it, check with your brain first. Accept nothing, challenge everything.

Sounds alot like the politics of YC12

To quote Lfod Shi

The ratting itself is PvE. Getting away with it is PvP.
