Mission Issue

A work friend has recently started playing Eve. I was running Lvl 2s with him last night to help him get standing, when we accepted Technological Secrets 1 of 3. At the end of the mission you have to collect a Mercenary Pilot and return it to the agent, but we can't because the cargo container holding it accidentally got blown up.

I thought it might reset the mission after the server reset today, but when I speak to the agent and warp to the coordinates, nothing happens.

Help!

If the mission is flagged complete (green check mark), it won't respawn. Petition it, and sometimes CCP will reset it for you. Otherwise, quit it.

don't quit the mission till you check contracts or the market to see if the mission item is available from some other player. Quitting the mission will have huge hits on your standings so don't do ti till you have exhausted all other resources.
Occasionally Ninja salvagers or the occasional Explorer find what you need and put them up for sale to see if anyone needs it.

But above all petition it, befroe quitting it.

Things that keep me up at night;  Why do we use a voice communication device to send telegraphs? Moore's Law should state, Once you have paid off the last PC upgrade you will need another.

My Navy Standing is 9.98, so there's no way I'm quitting it. I'll see if I can buy, then petition. Thanks to both.

It's a lvl 2, standing hit, even for quitting, isn't that bad. The price ninjas charge isn't worth it, especially for noobs. Petition it because it's free. But personally, I'd just quit it to get back into the game immediately. You'll earn back the standing.

Why do you worry about having that high of a standing?

Because that's my motivation in game. I want to have 10.0 standing with all of my mission agents. Then I'll find something else to do.

Someone was selling the commodity I needed in Jita, the only one on the market, so I bought it. Thanks for the advice all.
