Hi Folks,

As I want to grind rep with a non-combat character I was going to do this with Mining and Distribution Agents. All the info on ship types info I've found relates to combat missions so was wondering if anyone can help me with the ship types for lvl 1->4 missions from these types of agents.

Also, is the current Mining ship route now Venture->Barge or should a Cruiser be used between them?

Thanks for your help.

Distribution: Should be able to do I-IVs in Industrials. If you're skilled Gallente, that may make the decision a little bit harder as you have five options. From what I remember, iw as able to do IIIs and below with a ship that could hold 20K m3 or so. I think IVs required more cargo space, so I had to do those in multiple trips

Mining: I haven't done low-level mining ops, but the higher level ones seemed time consuming. Vs may work best with a Mackinaw. IVs and below can probably be done in a Mining barge. You may be able to get away with doing IIs and below with a Venture.

Stick with the Venture until you get a Barge. The ore hold alone makes it a better option.

For mining missions, you can do Is and IIs easily in a Venture. For IIIs you should use a Retriever unless you don't mind several trips with a Venture.

Beginning with IIIs you will encounter enemies that a Barge may not easily handle. So either keep a cruiser around or use a Procurer/Skiff.

The IVs need both Gas mining and Ice mining on top of the Ore, so you want at least a Retriever. Ore missions are usually around 45k m³, Ice are around 20k m³ and Gas fit into a Venture, I think 4250 m³. Also the Ore in the IVs is usually some 45km away from Deadspace entry. A Barge will take a while to move there. Enter the Skiff. It goes Mach 2 and isn't afraid of manoeuvring.

For Standings and LPs, Mining missions are alright. I think even better over time than Distribution missions. Though the skill requirements are higher, at least for the IVs.

For level 3-4 mining missions, I'm going to recommend a Procurer, with a Venture for the gas harvesting missions.

Probably the most troublesome mission will be the level 3 mining mission titled Pile of Pithix. Depending on the luck of the random number generator, you can encounter 3-6 cruiser drones and 5-20 frigate drones over a number of waves. At the high end, a Retriever has a hard time coping with the incoming dps. Either fly a Procurer with mediocre drone skills, a retriever with T2 drones or fly your cruiser in to beat the rats down and then come back with your barge.

Level 3 mining missions take about 1 hour to finish (some much shorter) and fill 1 retriever ore hold.
Level 4 mining missions take about 2 hours (gas one much shorter) and take about 2 retrievers full of ore.
