Common issue: Inventories are a huge mess

Fix: search bar, folders and the option to default loot, ore and salvage into a folder of your own choice.

Issue:

I fit a Mammoth in my Orca ship bay, the player tries to access it and says "I can't fly a Mammoth." Ok, so I grab a badger from the starbase ship bay and drop it in the Orca ship bay...

Information notification appears "One unit of X ship would take Y units of space. This container only has Z units free." The problem is when you have a lot of modules in a POS, labs, hangars, multiple ship bays - the tree gets very long and below the fold, so dragging and dropping becomes difficult.

Example:

So, now I have to close that window out, scroll through the inventory tree, find the ship bay, scroll back up and grab the Mammoth then drag and drop it in the ship bay, grab a Badger and then scroll through the inventory tree again and find the Orca ship bay, open it and drop the Badger in so some guy can use it to pick up a container in space.

Fix:

Have an option that allows for "auto switch" means the largest item gets switched out for the item you're dropping in the Orca bay. Or don't have any criteria and just "auto fit" the bay.

no more games... it's real this time!!!

Issue:
- I run Missions with some friends from time to time (joining each others corps is no option). The loot should be stored seperately from my private loot.
- I bought stuff from the market and and to keep track of the information what price I did pay back then.

Fix: Let me label the stuff like "Missionloot with players X,Y and Z" or "bought at 5.55ISK" and/or store them in a logical compartement of my hangar. Like files in a folder.

When doing inventory maintenance at my POS, it takes a lot of scrolling to move things to and from my ship. I'd love it if the ship's inventory was pinned to the top of the inventory list. That would let me move things to my ship from the various labs and arrays with substantially less pain. Yes, I can just shift-click the ship to pop its inventory open, but I'd like a more elegant solution, if possible.

Saved scans in the directional scanner, even if its just 2 tabs with different settings, 2 will be enough, 1 for short and one for long.

Issue : Everything lying on the hanger floor

Fix: Recursion : Allow S&I Jobs to look in containers to find the required items.
Or if you do not want to do this how about looking in named containers - Blueprint Copies [ownername], Blueprint Originals [ownername] etc.
Allow searchs to search everything in range for the object needed or being looked for, both by the user and the game.

Issue: I open a container one way, then moving to space or another station changes it to some DEVs idea of a joke!
Fix: User choice over DEVs everytime! sometimes it's remembered other s it's not!

NB:
You know that there is a Inventory management problem when it is faster for you use an out of game tool to query the API, & locate items using that in preference (both easy of use and speed) to the in game UI !!!

Could Klang take the (now rotting) pizzas & the launcher out as they leave the building plz.

when dragging an item into a cargo space the inventory "ghosts" how much volume it would take up in the form of a light blue bar across the top (as opposed to a solid blue bar to show how much room is actually currently taken up)

also when shift dragging things across to cargo space a quantity box appears to allow you to split the stack however which way you choose

my idea is this: allow the quantity typed in to dynamically alter the light blue bar in the inventory window before actually hitting enter. not ground breaking but would be nice to have

anyone from ccp able to advise on whether this is doable ?

Hi, one of the things that keeps bugging me with the UI is resizing. Often when out in space, I like to open up my cargo and fill it with varoius stuff. I like to keep my inventory box small when in space, but you have placed a filters box rigth where the most important thing is, the numbers. Personally I never use filters and would very much like it to be an option to not have it show at all. Then i could "minimize" my little cargobox to show me the number for how much i got in my cargo and how much i can carry, without having to have a much bigger box than I need to.

About UI and size of boxes. You got several boxes that you can't get below a certain size. Like the industry tab etc. I would very much like to see more zoom and size stuff in the UI in general.

ISSUE: I can't find where my minerals from buy orders end up without clicking through multiple windows.

FIX: Add 'search for in assets' to the right-click menu on items, like 'view market details'.

The fix is allready there - use station containers, vaults or warehouses.

ISSUE:I have to open multiple windows to organize, use, move, and generally interact with items on a ship.

EXAMPLE: I open my ship inventory, but that is the only inventory available to me. I must then press the "Inventory" button on the Neocom bar.

FIX: When opening the ship cargo, open the same menu you would usually when clicking the "Inventory" button from the Neocom bar -- thus unifying the inventory experience.

P.S.- The UI changes to the inventory have been wonderful, especially with the addition of manipulation items from cargo containers, to the item hanger. The issue I feel is that the inventory windows are not uniform. I feel that a global inventory window that opens every time (no matter if you double click on your ship in station). This would ease confusion, especially for new players to EVE.

ISSUE: When searching through the "Assets" window, items in containers do not display.

FIX: When searching for a specific item -- allow the search utility under the assets window to search through not only all stations and item hangers, but also through the containers within item hangers.

This would reduce a major headache when searching for a specific item, or seeing if you have one available, if you sort your items in containers.

+1 for the ability to have editable "tabs" or "folders". I hate that I have to lump all my mission loot/salvage/ammo in with everything else.

The ability to add folders under the item hangar would be awesome.

Inventory management is a *****. Here's some suggestions:

Introduce tabs, folders, on top of secure cans. Leave the sorting to the player. Allow fits to be able to pull from the whole inventory, or just a particular folder or tab.

Keep the filters system you have, while allowing it to search only by the tab, the folder, or the whole inventory.

Easy. Very easy.

If you're driven to threaten others with harm or violence because of what they do in game, you can't separate fantasy from reality. That "griefer/thief" is probably more sane than you are. How screwed up is that?

I don't know a good solution to this, but I'll tell you what annoys the shìtAmarrian scum out of me.

In station, I like to be able to click on the inventory side list to get to other groups quickly, either just swapping between the ships and items hangars or popping into boxes or ship inventories, or my active ship's bays. But I hate it when it expands a group I don't want expanded, or makes that huge list that I have to scroll through to find anything. I don't mind double-clicking on ships or boxes to get into them--boxes are especially easy since they sort to the top of the items. I want it to stop assuming I want the field expanded when I don't, and I want the old feature back in which dragging an item over a unit on the side bar and waiting briefly would cause it to switch to that bay so you could drop it anywhere (or at the bottom) rather than inevitably losing it amongst the garbage as it automatically sorts between the time you drop it and the time you swap to that bay you put it into.

In space, I usually want my cargo bay to have small edges. I won't be checking my ore bay on most ships (because they don't have one), and so I don't need to have the side thing open. I want the cargo window as small as possible while still having room to access cargo. But in some ships, I want that little side bar. I want to check my barge's ore bay and then see what worthless loot I picked up from the belt rats. Or maybe I want to check what's in my carrier/orca maintenance bay, corporate hangar, or check how much fuel I have. And clicking the button to push the side bar away or pull it back out doesn't do much because I still have to adjust the window size, and then make it fit the inventory unit widths so that I don't have a set of unused half-spaces on the right.

If you can make this inventory management less of a headache for me, then I will bow down and submit to the great and almighty wisdom of the all-knowing CCP Optimal.

P.S.: I want a way to sort items by the estimated sell value that I can see on mouse-over. Blink

In ship, the cargo should default to what's in the cargo. Also, it should be under "cargo hold" and not the name of the ship itself.

In station, the inventory should default under items, not the current ship's cargo.

Also, if you have your cargo window up and dock, refresh the window to include the full station tree.

Not a diplo.
