What ship after BS for the soloist?

So I'm been working my way slowly towards a Gallente Megathron (mostly cause I like the look) in the hopes of using it as my primary Mission Running vessel, a Nemesis for when/if I decide to try out more PVP and at some point I'll eventually train towards some Mining Barge vessel.

That said, I've been digging through the EVE Wiki and saw Capitol ships, but based on the descriptions talking about them not being able to dock and not allowed in high sec, the ships seem like more of a liability to me (since I fly solo pretty often) than something I should train for. Is this true or is there a Capitol ship (maybe the Erebus) worth training as a soloist?

dont fly cap ships solo as they tend to die and produce salty tears.

If you want a solo pvp ship there are a few

Pilgrim
Tech III
Others that i cannot think of as im tired
Nullsec is full of cloaky tengus trying to take pot shots at other boats

Standing in for Karn Dulake who was banned for saying bad words

If you mean Carriers, Dreadnoughts, Supercarriers, and Titans... No. Flying without any sort of allied support in a capital ship is the best way to lose it.

Carriers are fleet support vessels, designed to assist a fleet with logistics, carrying stuff, and some respectable DPS with fighter support.

Dreadnoughts are fleet damage vessels designed to shoot large structures like starbases and stations. they are next to useless on anything else.

Supercarriers are massive damage dealers designed to **** face, and they are pretty overpowered right now. They'll be nerfed soon. They use fighter bombers and fighters to do damage on a much much larger scale than carriers, even better than dreads do. I don't really understand the role of supercarriers, so I can't tell you what they're for, but I do know you must have the support of other capital ships and smaller subcap fleets.

Titans are even more outside my current understanding, though I know they provide jump bridges, doomsdays, and clone vats, along with a full rack of dreadnought sized guns. You need a whole alliance to protect it as it does its job.

Anyways... if you take one of these out solo, you're just a big shiny target for larger corporations and alliances who are looking for an easy capital ship killmail, and no amount of pimping your ship will save you from that fate if you're solo.

Train for tech 2 subcaps now. Heavy Assault ships, tech 3 cruisers, command ships, marauders (PvE only). there's plenty left to train for without getting into capitals.

Thanks, this confirmed what the wiki descriptions seemed to indicate, saves me a lot of training time I can continue to put towards making my current ships better and towards the tech II versions of them.
