bought a freighter char

now i need a freighter I have the isk to buy one but not to pick up contracts with the insane collateral they require. I am looking for a business partner who can do one of two things. either help me with a freighter or help me with collateral on my first couple contracts. I would also look into joining a corp that would allow me to make isk moving supplies to market for them. here is a link to my char i just bought. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2765701#post2765701 I have play eve every night for 3-4 hours. I also have an account who mines clear ice and this char which i would be using to help pay back the loan.

There's a saying about flying what you cannot afford to lose.

You would in fact be flying not only something you would not be able to afford to lose. But something that you already couldn't afford in the first place. One stroke of bad luck and you're neck deep in debt with no income and a reputation that will keep you from any further proper jobs on the market forum.


Amarr pilot. Buy a Bestower. Fly hauler contracts across high sec and deliver ammunition to remote mission hubs until you can afford two freighters. Then you buy a Freighter and start working.

I by no means cant afford a freighter i just would rather not use up most of my isk. i guess what i am looking for is a corp that needs a freighter and is willing to pay for its services. more of business partners. I have tried redfrog but the process takes a LOOONG time. i guess i can just start accepting contracts that i can afford. oh and this would be a third source of income as i already dual box this char doing lvl 4s and another char mining ice. i would be willing to provide proof on my 2 other accounts that i indeed do ice mine and run lvl 4's for theology council.

Not to mention that they don't provide collateral to their pilots. So you have no choice but to grind more lvl 4s or re-sell the ship for a profit.

yeah grinding lvl 4s right now to hit the 500m mark they require. I will just find a corp that needs this service and move stuff for them at a discounted rate.

You have done this whole thing back to front, but if you are desperate to work this out maybe I can help you.

Do you have any items, like ships or loot, that you can provide as collateral for an isk loan? You could then buy your freighter, use the loaned isk as collateral for your hauling jobs and maybe even make a profit.

I think you are mad to do any of this, but I do not mind making a little profit from your madness.

EVE is a game of madness. if you arent mad you quit early. I do have 2 domis and some extra ships lying around. I actually have bought the freighter already. i just didnt have enough to pay for collaterals. I could part with these i guess. again im going to post in the recruitment thread and services thread looking for work. triple box ftw.

In that case I would be happy to extend you a loan using whatever ships you can spare as collateral.

I will charge you 4% per month in interest on the loan. You should be able to make that isk back by completing a small number of courier jobs.

If you want to go ahead with this, just give me a list of the collateral and we can then agree a value for them. Then you can contract them to me for the loan isk and I will contract them back to you for the same amount at the end of the loan. All I ask is that all the collateral be in one location and that it be accessible high sec.

Solo freighter services are **** poor in isk/hr and rife with scams. Join Red Frog Freight to see how to properly run a freighter for profit. Its however about a 2 month waiting list to get into the corp iirc. Otherwise you'll find that the amount of isk/hr that you make with the measley public contracts is pretty poor and you would be much better running missions or doing incursions

Here's a good peace of advice. If you don't know actually what you are going to do with the freighter before you by it, then you shouldn't buy one.

The risk is terrible for the business partner. If you get ganked, you both lose money, and if you steal the cargo, (or never accept contracts in the first place) then they lose money and you gain money.

If you've read redfrogs recruitment guide, you'll see that RF pilots in-corp character accepts the contracts, and RF covers losses based on insurance being paid, and that they use a 2 account, permanent war model to keep the freighters themslves clear of wardecs, a protection you can't currently offer. ie RF is only indirectly exposed to an individual loss, and requires their pilots to do significant amounts of work to reduce the likelyhood of it occuring.

Check out Push Industries. We are fairly accepting, and will take you in even if you can't meet the 1 billion collateral. 1 bil gives you access to more contracts, sure, but we also get lower-valued contracts which I am certain you could move. :)

Need stuff moved? Push Industries will handle it. Serving highsec, lowsec and nullsec - and we do it faster and more reliably than anyone else. Ingame channel: PUSHX

a certain party gave me a couple fairly large contracts for a decent isk per jump rate and i completed them fairly quickly. thanks to everyone who was helpful i think i got this. ps redfrog even with the collateral requirement met is a massive wait.

You might join the "Haulers Channel" chat channel in-game. You can pick up some extra courier contracts there, and some advice from other independent haulers.
