Silly question - Buffer Tank

So, silly question but lets go anyway:

Say I have a buffer fit proteus or some other thing, the ship doesn't matter.

Now lets say I have a propensity to sit cloaked or some such, I shoot at innocent ratters or other people in my buffer fit ship of coolness...

Now lets say I get a couple of dings in the ol' armor. I suppose I'm flying around in not-so-friendly space, I don't have a place to dock and I don't have a local repper fit. How would I go about banging out the dents and polishing up my fine spacecraft?

Just askin' : )

You could bring a recon along say a Falcon or some such and have that rep you in between fights

-Remote rep alt
-Carrier alt to refit
-PoS
-Lucky wormhole to high/lowsec

If you have a carrier alt you already have better remote rep than you can get local Lol

There's always some stations that belong to NPC pirate factions in null where you can dock up and repair, just make sure you make an instawarp bookmark before you dock so you don't get camped in the station.

There are only a few optoins available to repair your ship:

Remote Repair from another ship (by RR mods or drones)
Refit your ship with a local repper.
Repair Services in a station.

There are only two options to repair a module:
Nanite repair paste.
Repair Service in a station.

I had the same issue in FW without ability to dock nearby. Simple and cheap solution is a semi-afk alt sitting on a safe spot in a t1 logistics frig or cruiser.

Additional bonus: when fitted with some cargo extenders it also serves as loot/ammo/cap-booster/nanite storage. I really hate it to collect shiny loot in PvP just to lose it in a subsequent fight or to travel several systems with damaged hull or without cap boosters left in cargo. Such an alt in a cheap and nimble ship is a nice scout as well as soon as my combat main sits in a more sluggish ship.

Best solution:

Train alt on same account to use repair drones and/or remote armor reps. MWDs and cloaks good to train too, takes a few days at most.

Find quiet system, eject from proteus. Login on alt. Rep proteus. You can figure out the rest.

I'm curious, if you still have agression timer, can you scan "yourself" down and rep the ship?

imo if you are willing to risk your ship to repair it while logged off you may as well just eject and repair the unmanned hull floating in space.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Something that shield tankers take for granted while they claim armor buffer is OP and that regen doesn't matter in pvp, is only solvable with a second account.

I´d like to see a new drone type.
Call it something like "Self armor repair drone". Will repair only a VERY SMALL (just a little bit more then tiny) amount of armor / cycle and only works at your own ship.

But then again, you´d need to "waste" dronespace for that one.

Find a safe spot and power down your reactor to reduce your sig radius. Suit up and go for a walk. Make sure you decompress any compartments you're working on to reduce your chances of getting blown into the outer darkness by a rapid decompression. Oxy-acetylene welders are quite adequate for tritanium hulls.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.
