T1 Missile-based Frig fits for Learning PvP? Budget: 1.5m per one

I've been flying 10m costing Condors atm, and somebody pointed out that its a waste of money spending this much considering i'm only just starting and getting the ropes, which is fair enough

So what T1 Frigs would you say can be done as cheap as possible (under 1.5m), and still be fun and effective in plexing pvp?

There is one catch... it MUST be a missile ship, since I have all missile subs to 4, Rockets to 5, and my Gunnery skills are dreadful - Besides, missiles/rockets look a whole lot cooler ;)

Cheap at 1.2 Mil a piece. Cap stable at all V, so should probably running a few minutes for you. Keep at range 17 km, Point, MWD perma on and damp his locking range , so he cant shot back. If he comes to close, overheat your web and try to get range. People will hate you.

More the Brawler style. 100 DPS tank, ~70 DPS damage, cap stable. A bit more expensive, as the med ASB costs 2 mil alone.

Both fits have quiet some space left, so even with non optimal skills it should fit. Generally you can always downgrade an expensive T2 fit by using cheap Meta 1-3 items instead with only small losses in performance.

Nice builds!

Yeah, a lot of people have been saying recently that T1 or T2 isn't important, what important is piloting skill - And since i'm currently lacking that, its best to learn in 5-10 1-2mill costing frigs, rather than a single 10mill frig.

Would you agree with that?

I had my best Solo fights in a 1 mil Atron. Bought 20, lost 3. Yes, piloting is way more important then the ~8% more damage a T2 gun does, especially on a Frig.

If you want to have a change at winning combats I'd take a 5 - 10 milion condor every time.

Yes there is, a thing called piloting skill, but most of that is done before the real fight begins, if you want to have a chance to set something right in the 2 minutes a better fit realy does the trick.

5 - 10 million is already pretty cheap, few hours mission running and you buy 10 condors.

this is what I fly.

High:

- Light missile launcher II 3x

Mid

- Limited micro warp drive MN 1
- J5 Prototype Warp disruptor 1
- Balmer Series Tracking disrupter 1 (Range disruption and tracking disruption script)
- F90 Positional sensor subruotines (locking script)

As someone else mentioned pilot skill is a huge factor, but it's not the only factor. just two months ago I started doing pvp after a long carebear career and I quickly learned that there are just some ships that you will have no chance against unless you spend as much on your ship, I mean there is a reason some cost a lot more. The most common I can think of are pirate ships which generally (no not always) wreck any T1 frig you bring.

It's definitely ok to T1 fit a frigate, but T2 weapons do make a huge enough difference that if you don't fit them you're really banking on either going up against someone who is absolutely awful, or you will probably lose. Especially starting out in pvp it's a bit frustrating to lose in seconds trying to figure out what happened, don't make it harder on yourself by fitting t1 guns.

I agree that T2 Guns are important, but only for short range turrets. The biggest factor in T2 Guns is T2 ammo and Faction Missiles are sufficient. Lose 10-20 T1 fitted ships, then go for T2 guns. You will lose these ships to stupid piloting errors and judgement errors ("I can tackle that Curse, no problem" < my error).

Identifying ships to avoid is part of piloting skill imho

I wouldn't say that LML Condors are viable without a T2 point (or links). I'd roll with a meta fit rocket Condor parked at zero on the warp in for frig plexes.

Nothing really unless you only plan to hunt farmers then anything dual scram with dps works.

I recommend the rocket/td/ab/scram condor. Like 8m or so if I remember correctly
