So I'm trying to install EVE on one of my laptops and it's just not working. First the installer had trouble downloading the client so I did the manual download and now when the installer tries to extract the files, it extracts them for a bit and then says...

"Archive Extraction Failed: 3"

Anyone able to help?

Delete the downloaded file, you might have got whatever file dorrupted on download.

Are you multitasking while downloading? -if yes, find a way to download your client while not doing whatever else with your computer.
I can only see this or your ISP/conextion problem.

Just bought a new computer with windows 8. Tried downloading and got the same error message. Tried manual download and that didn't work. Also tried eve repair tools with no success. Then I tried copying eve folder from my old computer onto an external drive then copying that onto my new computer and that failed to connect.

Im having the same issue. EVE client was working OK on my laptop until this week when the installer attempted to upgrade. I have tried all the suggestions I can find on here and none seem to get me any closer to an install. Even the "Offline" method seems not to work.

Any ideas?

Just copy your existing client over and run repair tool to ensure that the copying pocess went fine,

Personally, my repair tool gets stuck at initializing. But that doesn't matter, because I can't even download any files to repair. Always archive extraction failed 3. Manual download is corrupt as well, but very damn time.

That only means that you have issues beyond EVE installation problem. Fix your system first.

Note that if you are behind a HTTP proxy that doesn't support Range headers, you will have problems with EVE. The launcher team are apparently working on this.
