Give the ability to remove skills.

I've read various threads about re-allocation of skills, the purchase of SP etc... This thread isn't related to any of that.

What I'm requesting is the ability to remove skills.

My 3 characters all have some dubious skills trained from when I was a new player. I would like the ability to be able to remove them.

I'm not asking for SP re-inbursement, I'm not asking for a high five, I'm not asking for ANYTHING in return. I'd just like to be able to tidy up some messy skills that I never use by pressing a delete button.

I know that the game code now has the ability to facilitate this and enabling pilots to remove skills would not give any advantage to any pilot over anyone else.

Can you make this so?

- cheers

Not a bad idea. It does give the very slight advantage of lowering the cost of an SP bloated clone, but high clone costs are a seperate issue entirely.

Ahh that's very true Tak and I didn't think of that, my idea is in to no way gain a benefit, so yeah that could be a slight problem.

e: Thinking about that further though. If you deleted a skill with so much SP that it lowered you down a tier of clone then in a way that's going to be a TON of SP you're deleting which kind of balances it out and, not a very good way to save a few isk.

This is a game that has consequences to every action you take, this is no different...

Thanks for confusing that with me being mad at something...

This reminds me of Monk.
No offense intended, honestly.

A few questions:
Does it annoy you a lot?
Do you have the need to have everything all tidy and clean,
so much that you freak out if it isnt?
Does everything have to always be in its place?
Do you have carpets?
Do you clean up often?
Do pictureframes annoy you, if they arent exactly horizontal?

Thank you for your answers.

Ha, I see where you're coming from and yeah, maybe.

I think as I'm not asking for this to benefit the pilot in anyway shape or form, and maybe to make everything a little more asthetically pleasing, it should be at least thought about by CCP.

You like everything tidy?
You feel the need of aesthetics on a stupid window you wont look at in 90% of your gametime...

I guess i was right.

Anyway.. request denied. Not gonna happen.
Not because we hate you, but because your issue with your skills rather reflects deeper issues within yourself, thus not being an actual reason for such a change in the game.

Seems like a useless feature, and CCP do have limited resources.

Why would you want to remove sp? Do you have OCD? Or is this a clone cost request?

If it's clone cost, then CCP already has a mechanism....just don't buy a clone, pod yourself, SP lost. Rinse, repeat until desired SP is achieved.

I think injected but not trained skills should be able to be removed.

If it's a matter of tidiness, just train them up to a “tidy” level. P

The only real problem with skill deletion is that it would have to be restricted to skills that are not prerequisites to any other skills you have, and that's a bit messy to check for. And it's not because you need those skills for the prereqs — the problem is exactly the opposite: since you don't need the prereq skills once you've trained the next tier, skill deletion would let you cut away all those skills you only trained as prereqs and which now only bloat your clone costs. So even if, mechanically speaking, you don't use the prereqs for other nested skills, deletion would have to consider them “in use” if you have any such skills.

Beyond that, sure. Delete ahead.

If you can't deal with having some meaningless writing on your screen then you probably shouldn't be playing Eve.

Why would we want the devs wasting their time developing UI so you can remove skills that you don't need to remove. Just don't use them, simple as that.
