I don't know .If i was, I wouldn't be disappointed on tracking problems and guns and wouldn't go for cruises.

Hi guys,
As the title says i have a maelstrom which I really like but having 3 tracking enhancers II and one tracking computer with tracking script and still missing the opponents many times in many ranges is a little annoying and boring. So I want a battleship that uses missiles gets bonuses for missile damage speed and can get good missile damage and range so I don't miss again .Tell me what to train for please.

Actually one of the big trends right now is to fit a MJD(micro Jump Drive). What this will do is allow you to keep range which will make it much easier to hit stuff.

When you get in the mission fly straight at them, hit the MJD. if you were say 20km from them when you jumped you will land 80km behind them. I am assuming you are fitting 1400mm arttys, you just need to make sure you have the skills to target out to 100km. at 80-100km you should hit far more than you miss.

Another option is to go with 800mm autocannons as they have much better tracking and actually more dps than the 1400mm artillery guns. They will do less damage per shot but fire way more often resulting in more damage.

I personally fly a fleet typhoon for level 4 missions. but it is very skill intensive to really get it to shine. A typhoons advantage lies in its split weapon systems, but you need the skills to take advantage of all three weapon systems, guns drones and missiles. My main has almost 50 mil skillpoints with all support skills for Guns, Missiles, and Drones to 4 or 5. If you have the skills to fit a good shield tank with the limited mid slots you can use all those low slots for damage mods, or armor tank it and use two target painters to increase damage application.

P.S. never try to fit shield and armor tank of the same ship, it will gimp your damage so bad the extra tank will not save you.

P.P.S. also for high sec mission running you want an active tank. high resists for your chosen tank type, with a shield booster or armor reper, rather than a large buffer. your are best off with damage specific resists that match the rats you will face in the missions. most rats only do two types of damage, so tanking for all 4 is a waste of slots.

I'm running lvl 4 missions just fine in a Rokh with 350mm's and relatively low SP. I think OP is doing something wrong; either he's not taking transversal velocity into account or he's shooting targets that he should be dealing with using light drones.

A little incoherent, but if I understand you right (which is not a given):

A pure-PVP-fit ship will get slaughtered in a dedicated PVP fight. I've learned that the hard way.

Wat pure pvp fits fail at pvp?

So a scorpion navy issue with 170ks ehp isn't worth it and almost all resistances to 90%?Really confused and don't know what to do or train.

What fit is this ?

Well i would like to know what you are using the maelstrom for, i'm assuming mission running. Even still this character is two months old you really shouldn't be flying a battleship. I have been plying for almost 5 months and i'm only NOW maybe thinking about training up for a battleship and that's only to rat in 0.0 anomalies nothing more. Hell to competently fly a battlecruiser it takes about 10 to 15 million SP. (A battleship being even more skill intensive.)

But if you really want to fly a Battleship try training the skills "Motion Prediction" and "Signature Analysis" to 4. (Five would be recommended.) That will help with your tracking problem.

I frequently hit frigates with 1400mm artillery in a tempest, maelstrom, or tornado at widely varying ranges including within 20 km, in level 4 missions. Your tracking bonuses will only go so far. Even with officer tracking computers and perfect tracking boosts from a fleetmate, I doubt you could get 1400mm artillery to track as well as 720mm artillery's base tracking. But with some fancy maneuvering, I can hit almost anything.

How do I do it? Simple. Look at the red cross that represents the center of your target. Watch as it drifts across your screen. If it's staying in one place, then it has no radial velocity on you. Fire the weapons.

If it's moving across your screen, hold your fire. Move your mouse cursor to a point in space well ahead of its path of movement, and double-click to make your ship move in that direction. You should notice the red crosshair moving more slowly across your screen, or even changing direction altogether. With some adjustment of your ship's speed and heading, and just lots of practice, you can learn to expertly line up your shot. Fire when the cross stops moving.

Trying to hit stuff with 1400s at 20km is utterly not worth the effort. Arty is the lowest dps gun in the entire game, and you're losing a lot of it from tracking, if it hits at all. May I suggest ACs?P
