Level 5 solo, what do YOU use?

Recently I have been looking into new sources of income and have stumbled on to level 5 missions. I have been using a passive Tengu which I have not had any problems completing them with. My fit is similar to the popular l5 Tengu fit seen here: http://eve.battleclinic.com/loadout/37412-Solo-lvl-5-Tengu.html My only problem is that the missions take forever to finish, yeah I know they are l5s and they usually do take some time but I am just interested in knowing if anyone has any solo fits that could run them faster than a Tengu. For reference the fit I use does about 356 dps with scourge fury (the sauce is weak). I can fly pretty much all subcap ships so post anything, im sure if I cant fly it someone else that can may benefit. Thanks to anyone willing to share fits for soloing these things with some efficiency!

I want to countertroll by saying this is also a subject of interest to me, as i want to run lvl5 solo but still dont know which way to go to run them.

how about you use some faction resists and see if you can lob off one of those relays for a damage mod. Because really. They're so cheap. Also upgrade to t2 purgers. There not as cheap, but a second damage mod would be pretty huge boost in clear time.

if you want double the damage, get a rattlesnake.

Make sure they're faction bcs. And tell us where and when you fly.Smile

I've heard Ishtars running them. Rattlesnake would probably be better though.

Well if you want to solo them and not use a rattlesnake you don't have a lot of options.

Ishtar add/or Gila can handle some missions and T2 Sentries provide more than 356dps.

The real key is knowing which missions can be blitzed and running those. Several missions can be completed in less than 15 minutes even with only 356 dps.

You are able to add another 2 bcs by adding t2 rigs and switching to some dedspace resists. I had actually done this a while ago but still only getting 479dps and some missions dps gets uncomfortably close to breaking tank so usually I only drop one of the relays for an extra bcu that gives me 426 dps. Can someone link a good rattlesnake fit? Also don't the drones just get raped since the ai change in retri?

If you're not already using cheap 3% shield implants, just do that so you have some breathing room. Don't give up on 2 damage modules.

hi Fango, my highest and closest standing to lvl 5s are with Caldari Navy. Any advice on lvl5s wih them? are there any missions with them that can be blitzed?

Well - if one is not fast enough then why not throw a second (and third) one at them as well. You do need several accounts anyway for the "full EVE experience".

Other than that rattlesnakes are popular and I know some people do them in carriers. Some of them insist on doing it solo and have a L5 running carrier in each system where their agent offers these missions regularly.

Here, sanity... niiiice sanity, come to daddy... okay, that's a good sanity... THWONK! GOT the bastard.

Sentry fitted carrier 1500dps, choose missions which can be blitzed then profit.....takes around 5mins for the shortest one 10mins for the longest.
This obviously means you have to pick and choose the missions but get an alt or two with standings as well to keep a constant supply of these missions going.

Also you have to watch local and DSCAN like a hawk.

I used a purifier and sometimes a hound. But that was over a year ago and I heard the aggro mechanics changed so not sure it can still be done.
