I like the jukebox for the same reason. My own playlists...

Will CCP reimburse me for alt tabbing to winamp?

Also, where's the check box discussed in the first page?
A couple of months should be enough to press 1 button to put it on a window and then write 10 or so lines of code to implement the functionality.

This, how the fracking long is going to take to implement single button???

I was sad when the jukebox was removed. I actually liked listening to the EVE music. I can't find songs by any artist that replicates that kind of feel. The music is somewhat dissonant, but thats the feel of the game.

Put the jukebox back. Its been there since forever. It deserves to be there. I need it to be there. :(

I miss the jukebox sooooo much. I like to be able to choose my music, as EvE has some of the best music you can ever find on a computer game. Akat Mountains anyone? Or maybe some Opinions of the Misinformed? Alas, i'm limited to youtube now to get my EvE soundtrack fix. Since the change, being unable to pick, the volume slider on my EvE has been permanently set to zero, and will likely stay that way until CCP change it back.

Who thought it would be a good idea to get rid of the jukebox anyways? Sad

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

Sadly, the coding for the Jukebox has been cast out, set aside, removed from thine sight, exiled beyond the periphery, banished ne'er to return. It was stated so in a Dev Blog that such had occured. Reasons where given (old and obsolete) and lack of listeners; apparently as few as 5% of players actually had the sound active, but given that this was done via user tracking doesn't really take into account people with multiple accounts properly - e.g. the Lord Miner Chribba might have the jukebox active on one account and have it muted on the 15+ others he has running.

I don't think CCP has any plans at all for anything concerning the Jukebox for the future - a shame we shall have to enjoy listening to repetitive tracks, or shut the music off entirely - to which the management types who do the business will go "AHA! See, we told you no one listens to the music! Scrap it! SCRAP IT ALL WE SAY!"

I miss the jukebox too. Bring it back.

Also, add me to the list of weirdos that listen to EVE music even when not playing EVE. Just had Below the Asteroids playing while driving to work.

I can reduce them all to Star Wars music:

If that was determined as a part of a Survey, did they not consider that people were responding in a snarky way to be 'funny'? ( "EVE has sound?")

Real figure has to be higher than that.

The music repeating constantly drives me nuts so I just leave it off now, and don't even hear the cool Retribution Theme during logon. Got tired of sliding the volume on and off.

Bod choice to remove the Jukebox imho.

I'm looking into either to add a checkbox to make the music stop or when the slider goes to 0.0 that the the music system will also stop.

Separating the login music from the in game setting would be a step in the right direction.

I don't particularly want music in game unless I'm doing something that benefits from a bit of background musak, like mining or station trading, but it's nice to have something to listen to during the almost interminable age that it sometimes takes to log in .

You'd be surprised; the logs (certified "Not to Exist"™) that are broadcast from your game back to the devs are used to help develop the game; the surveys are only used really to help further cement and implement certain ideas.

Besides surveys/polls are hilariously open to abuse - just look at Time Magazine when they asked who the internet wanted as Time Person of the Year (readers poll)

What they are missing is *why* people turn the sound off. It's only partly due to not liking it--the main, huge, overarching reason is that it clashes with comms and makes it difficult to hear what's being said.

Understandable certainly. But CCP should know that not all players have to deal with fleet comms. I certainly don't when mining and running missions.

Exactly, and that's my point. People don't turn the sound off because they don't want it, they turn it off because they need to not have it.

So if there was an easier way for them to make these sounds viable during fleet activities or to turn them on or off quickly, that would likely be popular and would allow a lot of people to feel okay about turning the sound on once again.

It's a pain to need a separate app running in the background in order to hear something beyond the same 4 or 5 songs over and over in the game. For goodness sake CCP, please give us back the jukebox. Give the players control over the audio experience again like it used to be.

We demand the Jukebox to return back.

It was a feature which was around for a long time, the only major flaw of the jukebox was the jukebox being removed.

Why remove an unbroken feature?

CCP should get the hint, in light of the success of the Symphony Performance, that we want the Jukebox back.

I too would like to have a jukebox in the game. Eve has some really fantastic music, but hearing the same handful of them gets pretty tiring, pretty quickly.
