ATTN CONCORD Inner Circle

Recent statements by Caldari Providence Directorate Brigadier General Rus Kartaka are nothing less than an imminent threat of ethnic cleansing against the Gallente population living on Caldari Prime.

In order to prevent warcrimes that may have even now already begun, intervention by CONCORD Direct Enforcement Division units is required to protect the lives of civilian populations both Gallente and Caldari alike.

Specifically, a DED Task Force must be assigned to interdict any transfer of weapons of mass destruction to the Caldari Prime surface, the presence of any Caldari warships within bombardment range of the planetary surface, and to issue a formal order to the Caldari State Executive Panel and Providence Directorate to cease and desist all military actions on the planetary surface, until a third party peacekeeping force can be assembled and deployed to secure the situation.

We request an immediate response from CONCORD representatives to this critical matter and the support all capsuleers for our initiative.

The dam is breaking. Now is the time to act.

It is YOU who have forced this man's hand. It is YOU who have damaged this dam until it is at breaking point. You have been warned time and time again what will happen if you keep pushing.

Winds damn you for making us do this.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

Nobody forces someone to kill millions of people.

The fact you said as much makes your delusions self evident to the entire galaxy.

To quote Kartaka...

Quote:
“there will always be those dissenters who seek to cause ripples in smooth waters. The fact of the matter is that the land beneath our feet is the ancestral home world of the Caldari people, and the Caldari Provincial Directorate is here to stay. We will keep our home secure at all costs, even if doing so means the removal of all Gallente influence from Caldari Prime.”

Influence refers to political control. He is not threatening to exterminate all Gallenteans. Your foolishness keeps you from understanding the truth even when it's right in front of you.

Aside from that, Gallentean civillians are being slaughtered, if unintentionally. If the Caldari forces prove that they are incapable of putting down unrest on their own damn homeworld, then Federal forces or CONCORD will be forced to step in and intervene.

Watch_ Fred Fred Frederation_ and stop cryptozoologist! Fight against the brutal genocide of fictional creatures across New Eden! Is that a metaphor? Probably not, but the fru-fru- people will sure love it!

These most unfortunate developments have forced the hand of Ishuk-Raata to take an action we truly hoped we wouldn't have to. More information in an upcoming new thread.

Maybe he just meant to say that we will not require the Gallente to sacrifice a carrier and its crew in order to buy enough time to evacuate your citizens from the planet. Unless I've missed something no one is holding your people on the planet. As such they should be free to leave.

Good evening Gentlemen,

Over the course of the day the Directive Enforcement Department have received a number of messages of concern from Federal officials regarding the wording of the release in question.

The position of the CONCORD Assembly is quite clear. This is a territorial dispute between the Caldari State and Gallente Federation that CONCORD will not become involved in with regards to offensive military action unless either party breaches the Yulai Convention.

At this point in time, the situation on Caldari Prime is under review by the Inner Circle, and by Directive Enforcement Department Command. We will continue to monitor developments in the system of Luminaire, and may respond appropriately within the remit laid out for DED action under the Yulai Convention should the situation escalate further.

At this time we will continue to closely monitor the situation.

You missed something...they're not free to go anywhere. They're being kept in internment camps at best, and I don't even want to consider what the "at worst" part might entail.

Also, to the DED lady...What exactly is CONCORD's purpose again?

Doesn't the population on the planet realize that their resistance will only escalate the situation and prompt a tragic incident? I do not understand people's need to always be so defiant. The State governs the planet now, the residents should accept this lest they bring more harm upon themselves.

And I'm sure you have proof of these camps, correct? Even if that's the case shipping them offworld is always a possibility.

Pieter, this is exactly what I've been trying to prevent for the last month. You of all people should know that these people can't be expected to lie down and die. You words might as well read verbatim from the logs of a Federation Navy Captain as he shot down civilian transports fleeing Caldari Prime in the exodus. It wasn't right then, and it isn't right now.

It seems to me that Arve Vesren of CONCORD has dealt handily with the high-handed demands made by Mr. Soter and his merry band of mercenary capsuleers.

Thread over?

I appreciate your comments, Arve Vesren, but I might request that you consider for a moment that preemptive action is necessary at this point in time to avoid the crisis that looms before us.

Now is the time for CONCORD to demonstrate to the cosmos that it is a force for peace and stability in a universe spiraling out of control. We cannot stand idly by and deliberate as the entire region combusts.

If CONCORD starts taking sides in a cluster-wide war, that's the end of CONCORD.

I imagine intervention against one side or the other [sanctions and what not] could be perceived as 'taking sides'. It appears however CONCORD is rather content to sit on its hands rather than stop this nonsense now with an even handed and neutral decree like many of us have been calling for.

Ethnic cleansing is an effective security solution. For some reason humans seem to be offended about effective security measures. This is illogical.

It seems clear that the CPD and its thugs are ill-equipped to handle the task of keeping the peace on Caldari Prime, to no one's great surprise. It is time to eliminate their forces from the surface of the planet and replace them with corporate security forces and Navy Marines, professional forces who are trained in civilian policing and anti-terrorism, not ideological thugs that couldn't find real work elsewhere.
