Dreadnoughts -> Super Dreadnought? (Have Nice Day!.... to have)??

Roles I think it could fill:
Dedicated anti-capital DPS
POS Bashing?
Anti-Triage platform?
Dedicated anti-Super capital DPS
Capital Command / Ship Flagship?

Add T2 dreads along the lines of capital E-war, Capital HACS, capital Interdictors etc for super-capital lock-down.


What do you think, only matter of time before CCP adds more of them... capitals that is....
Make sure you read last CSM notes CCP state more capital will be on the way...

Actually, I think it's just the opposite. Given the substantial number of nerfs that have been done to them over the years, I think CCP probably regrets introducing them at all.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

You have just specified pretty much to the letter what is on a Dread pilots job description and they do a pretty darn good job at it (especially once you get T2 Siege).

I dont think we need any more Supers to unbalance the capital escalations.

the complete opposite of "nice to have"

Cap ships are already somewhat unbalanced because the larger alliances have the ability to field so many. introducing more overpowered super-ships to the field will just encourage the major powers to blob with them instead.

once all of the rebalancing is completed everyone will be in a far better position to assess what if any new ships would be welcome.

right now i look forward to a situation where capitals are only effective against other caps. then maybe we will see the game going back towards the days where fleets consisted of more than 1 ship type, be it drakes or supers

Really don't think theres a need for a dedicated anti-triage platform, dealing with triage carriers is often a catalyst for dynamic gameplay (or you can just blob them with dreads or bhaalgorns) but its often what kicks off a good fight.

But seriously, the T2 design philosophy is role based.

You're just describing a bigger, better dreadnought that does everything a dreadnought does, but better.

It would be like saying, "How about a T2 SUPERfreighter with a 2 million m^3 cargo hold?"


T2s are supposed to be qualitatively differentiated from their T1 counterparts.

That doesn't make the ship itself unbalanced, it simply makes the alliances unbalanced and its understandably so. Larger alliances shouldn't be negatively impacted because other groups either can't or refuse to meet to the same standards in size and structure that they currently adhere to.
