Nope, your not allowed to even mention that you had a GM conversation at all in a thread. Even if you don't post the words they used, you cannot mention the outcome or even that you had a conversation at all. This is coming directly from CCP Falcon also.

Beginning to think your right hence his mention of people abusing the system in the reply to my post despite it being plain from this thread and many other threads in the past on the subject that its something thats been given the OK on in the past.

Even if thats down to misunderstanding, a change in the rules or how strict they are implementing the rules or whatever it still could do with some black and white clarification.

I DO NOT remember this being there the last time I looked.
Because inviting yourself is not encouraging new PLAYERS to join, it is violating the purpose of the Buddy Program and thusly bannable. So according to this new rule, we can no longer create alts whatsoever with the Buddy Program.

CCP must clarify this issue and post an announcement regarding their stance or many players who are unaware of this change could potentially risk being banned.



To clarify:
Using the Buddy Program to create an alt for yourself is not considered a violation of any rules!

Thanks. I'm curious as to why the new bullet point has been added at all then, if nothing has changed?

The Buddy Program actually has changed recently.
We added the option for people to use public links in addition to the standard personal invite, and we had to make sure that the Terms and Conditions were updated to cover these changes.

So there really is nothing sinister going on here. We would love to see more people using the Buddy Program :)

I will reference your posts here if any trouble occurs in future with my use of the buddy program to create alts.

However, I maintain that the 8th bullet is worded in a way which suggests that making alts would be a violation (as alts are not "new players") and I would strongly advise that it be reworded in order to avoid confusion of this nature in future.
