Hello everyone, longtime lurker of MD forums and part-time trader. I update orders 1 to 3 times a day depending if it is a weekday or weekend. I want to share my recent experience with another trader in 0.0 NPC space and Im looking for any advice.

I have been trading in region wide orders of T2 modules, ships and fuel, etc for a few years with not any major aggressive traders. We would all play nice and keep our buy orders low, buy what we could get before someone else updated a buy order. The regional traders would turn around and sell for a very healthy profit.

Recently a veteran character has either returned to the game or region with lots of stock piles and buy orders with little wiggle room. Buy orders for medium shield extender II for 500,000 and the sell orders on market are 600,000 to 700,000 isk. This is just an example.

Before this trader came on to the scene we would buy medium shield extender II at 100,000 isk. I have been trying to keep up with this trader where I can compete and still fleece the buyerBig smile, but Im suspicious he/she is trying to goad me into buying their stuff.

Im sure others have ran into this, any advice.....

That's competition for you. Luckily it seems to be just one guy, so contact him and try to form a cartel. The fewer the participants, the easier it is to maintain the cartel.

Iv fought against this guy, easy to defeat in the direct sense, but watch out for price manipulation, don't get caught in his game, what can I say, fight fire with fire and make some friends with the other guys who want 100K to turn onto 700K per item, it will be a long battle, prepare yourselves and most importantly, set up a time frame who and when modifies their orders.

Pod him a few times, if possible, to lower his morale.

Any colour you like.

On reflection, the rogue trader may be one of my alts, thus forget the podding advice :)
