So in order to check out what has been happening in the Eve world, I decided to to a fresh install of wine and try the "return to Eve for $5 month", though I was resolved to not return before CCP got their act together, if ever.

I currently have Debian Squeeze (stable). I got the wine git repo, made a branch to 1.3.31 release tag, and after a few hassles compiled. After doing some winetricks and what not, tested the Eve client, got it working, activated account.

Now the problem is, everything is fine and dandy but after I login to the game, I lose the sound. I get sound at the login screen.

First I thought it might be the old Jukebox bug, so I renamed the Jukebox folder.

Still no sound. I decided to run with WINEDEBUG=+alsa, but didn't see anything special, though it sure scrolls fast.

So the specs are:
Debian Squeeze
Running ALSA
wine 1.3.31 from git

Anyone got ideas? What might be causing the working audio to not work after login?

Update:

The problem was caused by Eve Voice. Disabling Eve Voice seems to make the problem go away.
