Docking / Undocking times & Sizes of stations

Hello,

Everytime I dock or undock, I wonder how is it possible to park / unpark my ship so fast at / from the exact free spot in station itself. Our ships dock relatively fast (1 second after docking request is accepted), while undocking takes at least some „realistic“ time (loading the space). Still, for very busy stations or if you have a very big ship it seems to be very unrealistic. Is this somehow explained in the official ‚technical‘ lore?

Also question about the size of stations – for example Jita 4/4 surely can’t hold so many ships / freighters at once; if you compare size of all freighters and the station model – it could barely hold 10 freighters I think... is this some IKEA magic packaging or is there an actual „technical“ lore explanation as well?

Thanks!

Station size and the fact that there is only one undock annoys me but CCP arn't likely to fix it anytime soon. We shouldn't really waste our time complaining about something that will never be fixed P

I was just curious about this, not complaining Smile Well, actually I'm complaining, if there is no actual explanation in lore Big smile

This is something I always wish was adjusted and properly reflected in lore. The instant dock and exit of our capsules into our captain's quarters. It makes no sense whatsoever. I'd love to even have an animation that shows the ship pulling up and our characters being dropped out of the gooey pods.

The same applies to customs office. How can our cargo immediately arrive? It should take a few minutes after launch to be collected.

However I'm pretty sure this sort of addition is going to **** of the 99% of players who don't care for lore or immersion. :/

Oh how true. I find most of EVE doesnt care about the lore (Null sec alliances and such) and have sense stopped focusing on that as a recruitment tool for corporations and such. I do agree though that I would love to see the pods drain and the towing/ docking process too our captains quarters. This also brings up another point.

Why are the stations being scrubbed if we can stand in a much larger hanger that has access to several parts of the station?
A more private hanger would make more sense IMO but meh.

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.

This could also be added as optional content. I ONLY use captains quarters. I refuse to use just the hangar (as it's more or less a feature in CQ anyway).

Now to have my ship go through a docking animation for immersion doesn't ruin the gameplay because it's optional. Secondly I'm at a 'disadvantage' anyway because my CQ takes a little longer to load than the regular hangar. But this isn't a problem because I'm safe once docked anyway.

Oh I agree though CQ has started too fry my Laptops graphics card thus meaning its time to start rushing my computer build. I too use ONLY CQ when I can. Sometimes nowa days it boots me out of CQ Right back into Hanger view.
