I'm disappointed to learn that there is no prize for the first loss :)

Hope I can take down a couple with me :)

Was fun. Bit disorganized. Would do again.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

First player-driven event I've really taken part in.

I was a little underwhelmed with the danger level - I made it to the final system (and the Finish Line can) with my Merlin intact. The only danger (that I noticed) prior to that was a couple disco-battleships at one gate.

Of course, herding cats is easier than herding capsuleers, so full props to Rixx and The Tuskers for putting on this event.

If I could make a couple suggestions:

  • Force screenshots in each of the waypoint systems from potential winners - this might stop the whining caused by the New Eden deadend

  • More nullsec!!! I was expecting more gatecamps. I was really expecting to die long before I got the finish line. As a hi-sec carebear, I was a little disappointed I didn't. lol.

All in all though, a fun time. I'll definitely participate again.

Thanks again Tuskers!

The real currency of New Eden isn'tĀ ISK - it's** trust**. Any idiot can earn ISK.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Baerd you must have been one of the arrivers that arrived with the pack - the first 10-15 people that came into the final system got smoked pretty fast.

Will point the event organiser in this direction (Rixx Javix).

Seemed like people had fun, I know I did (even if I was trailing in about the last 1/3 of the racers most of the way and ended up getting popped with the final objective on my overview CrySmile

The gripers and complainers about this event can go jump in a plasma lake - gratz to you Tuskers for putting on an actual player-made-content event for New Eden

It was poorly run, poorly managed and the route was way way too easy, (no rancer, no 0.0 except the destination, no camps)

and wtf was the deal with telling everyone to warp to a certain planet at zero and then not caring if people didn't ?

Was in a group that trailed that event for fun. Killed a couple of disco-bs (1)(2). I can say that because of specifics of event - there was a lot of nano / instabbed / warpstabbed ships participating so it was very hard to catch them in low-sec (policy of group to not go piracy was not helping either). We got a bit of action in the beginning but were delayed by local pirates that were trailing you in Heydieles, catched some ppl on your return way from New Eden (Exit), and in Y9G-KS.
Anyway it was fun, especially last bubbled gate camp where we came a bit later and cleared everyone that was there (sorry for that Cool). Loot was awesome.

Opinions are like assholes. Everybody got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.

I hate to say it, but the organisation of it was pretty terrible. Perhaps you can help me with a few things.....

1. Everyone was told to set their autopilot to "prefer shorter", then at least 30 people for the first gate went into highsec - It was then said if you went into highsec then you were dq'd. So was the original statement an error? Are the 30+ people who went to highsec on first gate disqualified or what?
2. The Pax book - You said that all pilots must have the pax book from one of the stations or they won't be eligable to win prizes - Until one person bought all of the books, only to relist them moments later - Then you changed your mind and said the books are no longer needed! Srsly? Worst thing is, you could have turned this into more of a deathrace by saying "Want to get a book? better kill pilots and get one, otherwise no prize for you"
3. New eden - You told everyone to go to planet 1 and fight others. Besides a lot of people stupidly not having guns, a lot of people just flew up a few jumps and just waited till you said the next destination! So the people who actually DID the death part of the race were punished for it.
4. There was no real "race" part - Majority was just gate to gate to gate, so since majority were flying frigate class ships, it deterred people from fighting - Should of had at least a part where you had to race to a canister or two, or more warp bubbles or something (parring the end, that was cool - just a shame more of the race couldn't have been similar)
5. Use comms! Seriously, could have made life so much easier overall.

All of this is just my opinion, and despite what I've said I do appreciate the effort and hosting of the event, since it was still pretty fun to fly overall - I just felt the issues raised above really detracted from the experience

As mentioned, it was not all that dangerous except for the smartbombing ships at a few of the early gates and the bubble-gauntlet in the last system. The waypoints were easily bypassed, which could have been solved by instead providing the next destination in local chat.

All told, though, it was an exciting event. I somehow managed to burn to the finish in my pod from 20km out, after losing my Condor, my six-year-old PC seizing up all the while. Funny enough, I only got pod-killed when I tried to leave by a different route and met another bubble camp on the other side of the gate.

Oh, dear ... I'm late to the party.

Looks like a fun event. Are you planning on doing it again ?

I wasn't told until after the fact - after the race had started and I was already in highsec. Even if you're right , and I missed it, it's a bad requirement since it's difficult to control. Better to make sure you lose from having the autopilot set in any other way than the intended.

How was that stupid? There were no prior indications that there would be mandatory fighting events. On the contrary, we were told that we could finish the race in a pod. There was even a special price for the first to do so. I assumed, from this, that there would be no need for guns and no need for cargo space.

Agree. I had fun. Finished the race without a scratch in my Atron, reached and opened the container marking the finish line, after some serious (= fun!) evading manouvers, though I found it empty. Getting back to highsec in one piece was a fun challenge too.

I had a blast.

The danger was a little lacking, though I did get blown up after helping on the Abaddon kill.

The Highsec/Lowsec route thing was a bit confusing, as was the book. Just having a bit more official communication in the main channel would have helped there.

All in all, it was a lot of fun and I would definitely do it again.

I thought it was fun, and found myself torn between trying to "win" (which would mean staying cloaked whenever possible while trying to divine what might cause a DQ or not) or use the few guns I had fit (and near lack of tank). I ended up deciding to try a fast strafe and lost the ship but finished in a pod. I had four PVP ships along the known early route in expectations of being podded. I'm torn on whether I should have backed out of the race in New Eden and gotten one of them to join in on the big fight in Syndicate in something more than a pod.

I think that the split of people's expectations on fight or avoid-fight is what is causing frustration about whether they enjoyed the event or complain about the event (or both). The massive amount of possible choices and mixed data input is very much Eve. :)

Rixx said (both in fairness and frustration) that people who didn't like the way this was run are welcome to run their own live events. Whether you are a Tusker or a would-be event thrower there are some good lessons here on both things to do and things not to do. Of course it wasn't perfect, but I'm glad to see that a lot of people had fun.
