Pirate theme this summer.

Racial destroyer and BC skills so Pirate destroyers and BC's.

Ability to start out as a pirate.

Pirate faction drops and LP gains. But if your missions give you negative empire faction standings how will this be resolved?

How will other traditional pirate activities become allowed in Empire?

Actual smuggling an option? How?

Free form thought on this, no bad ideas. How do you think CCP will allow pirates to be pirates in hi sec?

Interesting thought, but what if the bounty system was brought into play instead? Remember, NPC pirates pay a bounty.

For every 100 isk in value you destroy of another players, you get 1 isk in bounty attached to your head automatically. This applies only to pirate players who begin their characters as pirates.

By the way, since we're already talking, do you want to buy a rifter? I've got the cheapest rifters in Metropolis. If you can find a cheaper rifter, buy it!

I like that, looks like a good ratio.

It would probably lead to many people rolling pirates though. For every benefit you would need a limitation. The idea needs to be attractive but not game breaking.

I can imagine the risk/reward people would be in favor of something along the lines of your idea though.

Well, if the pirates are going to all live in low and null, they should be adept at handling themselves if they have a bounty someone would actually trouble for.

If your pirate faction standings drop...you should be able to repair the same way as anyother faction.

However, pirate activies should not be allowed in pirate territory and be treated the same way as pirate activity in other faction systems. My reason for this stipulation is to pursue the Pirates of old....even they had a safe haven but still keeping one eye sober for any backstabber.

For rolling as a pirate, you should get automatic -10 sec status in any other empire region. However, the amount of loot drop from a pirate attack should be increased.

I would also like the ability to steal while cloaked from freighters that are on auto pilot. With each chance of looting has a percentage chance to decloak you...supplemented by skills/mods/implants. IE you can fly while cloaked up within 1.5km and run a cycle to get a random piece of cargo from the freighter's hull. At the end of the cycle based on luck of the draw breaks or allows you to stay cloaked.

Smuggling is really hard to implement in the current scope of the game except maybe through missions of transporting illegal goods through empire space.

What about the pirate mining missions? They would need special protection in low sec from evil bounty hunters. Maybe a pirate concord to protect them.

or at least put them back somewhere around their strength before m0o blockaded Mara/Passari (or a little stronger than that) ... but yeah, the guaranteed instant death is kinda sucky in the sense that in 0.8 on down no one's bothering to stop the Guristas/Blood Raiders/etc from showing up in the belts...

... just lock criminals in system (barring wormholes) for the full 15 minutes -- no docking, no jumping thru gates. CONCORD will "help" kill them, but the real punishment is left up to capsuleers...

Expand Incursions past just Sansha to all Pirate factions.
Allow players to join/assist said pirates faction
Have sec status of system reduced if incursions aren't cleared out

Make all pirate ships attractive now its just Cynabal or mach/vindi and nightmare rattlesnake for pve :(

Can't have faction bc's and destroyers until there's more tech two options for the hulls to become specialized in. But I see the OP's line of thinking and a smuggling option would be cool! Could you imagine it? Special ships to do it and others to try and catch. Getting to Jita 4-4 would be way more exciting!

Know what would be really cool? A way for faction warfare to set legalities for lowsec and perhaps police that for the caldari (pvp without gate guns) and perhaps set policy for what is and is not illegal in their related empires to spice things up! Maybe make some drugs legal.

Last year I spent a fair bit of time making myself useful to the Angel Cartel. As a result, I have lots of lovely ships and still a nice bit of ISK, but I'm extremely unwelcome in Gallente and Minmatar space.

The Caldari and Amarr factions couldn't care less how many Gallente & Minmatar NPCs I murdered though, and there's no reason why they should.

This seems like a perfectly well balanced situation. In return for extraordinary rewards, I cheerfully accept the limitation of having half of hi-sec barred to me for anything except fast travel.

Already in place. Somewhat.

Pirate faction level 1 agents are always available, even if you are -10 to Blood raiders, the level1 agents will give you missions. Would take you a while to get positive standings though.

Pirate faction level 3 epic arcs already exist, these give you enough standing, when successfully completed, to allow you access to much higher level missions. They only do this for Angels and Guristas, though. The other pirate factions do not have epic arcs in place, however, for say the Guristas arc, this allows you to do Gurista missions, storyline missions from the Guristas would get you derived standings with the blood raiders and Sansha's Nation. Angel missions would get derived standing to Serpentis.
