from reading all the ninja salvage guides i was led to believe people get extremely pissed off from taking their mission wrecks but it's not been my experience at all so far. quite the opposite. maybe i just got lucky.

You should read the guides again because the objective is to get them pissed and try to aggress you in a multi-billion isk ship that you can destroy or ransom. If you aren't doing that it simply makes you a trash collector. You'd make more money just running the mission yourself.

And a big thanks to you for keeping high sec trash free. Without waste management technicians such as your self high sec would be drowned in a sea of rat wrecks and useless meta mods. Imo 40 million an hour is a pittance for the service you provide. Cool

When I can't be bothered to loot/salvage (usually when blitzing for standings for an alt), I'll usually blue the wrecks so that if people like you are around, you can scoop/salvage them without worrying about getting blapped.

Never actually knew if anyone was finding those wrecks and looting them or not. Nice to know at least one person is.

I am not an alt of Chribba.

i'm only 3 weeks old so won't be able to run level 4 missions for a long time. in fact it seems to be by far the best money i can make right now.

While I can't remember the last time I even trained salvaging on a character, I still think it's a great thing for new players to get in to. It gives you some ISKies and teaches you how to have some fun annoying other people with little risk to yourself.

And that is why having Salvaging as a viable miniprofession around is a good thing. It's the perfect job for week old characters to get into the game. It teaches them the market, some scanning skills and provides a nice stepping stone into exploration - which in turn is the perfect stepping stone to get your ass out of HiSec and into LoSec. As a byproduct, newbs who get into exploration early and hone their scanning abilities are less likely to become a mindless HiSec mission runner drone, even when they don't make the jump into Low or Null.

Take note, all of you who advocate that salvaging another players wreck should turn the guy suspect. This is why you are wrong.

Hate to break it to you but, the golden age of ninja salvaging/looting is dead. But congrats all the same.

If I am blitzing to assist an alt with standing I just blue all the wrecks and offer the bookmarks in local. There is also a corporation called Pro Synergy which puts together mission runners and salvagers so they can both make isk. It's an option if you want to salvage or are a mission runner that leaves wrecks behind. I think in total I have only ever seen one ninja salvager and if he had asked I would have let him loot too.

Sure, that as well. Scanning is a very useful skill to have. And i don't mean only the kind of skill you can buy for SP.

I've seen maybe one or two people get mad at me salvaging, but I've also run into null-sec alts who just don't care, and even talk it up. The difference, I think, is whether the missioner is blitzing or not because if they're blitzing they're not caring at all about the wreckage.

A professional astro-bastard was not available so they sent me.

When I first started playing, the only way I made isk was by ninja salvaging. My corp had so many ninja-salvagers in the area that I would fit ecm to my cormorant so that I could jam them out when we were ninja salvaging the same mission Big smile

Yeah but...werent you in Test?

I mean no offense or anything but need I say more?
