Where does the locked down acceleration gate lead?

Why would a group of miners lock it down and in the process earn the enmity of a Corporation capable of hiring capsuleers to deal with the situation?

Why do hillbilly's shoot at police officers who are capable of bringing in the military just for poking around their land?

Well, even if the hillbilly's force the police to call in an ERU, there is generally an amusing if not intriguing tale behind their actions and / or curious interpretations of extreme faith if it plays a motive at all.

Recon 2/3 from a story driven perspective seems very open ended in nature and leaves the question - just what is on the other side of that acceleration gate?

Contrast it with "The Anomaly" story arc sequence which provides a fair bit more depth and reason for Capsuleer intervention in the situation.
