End of an era. The EON staff were a fantastic team and the EVE universe was so much richer with such a ridiculously gorgeous magazine.

Thanks to everyone at MMM and especially Richie for producing such a gorgeous and unique publication, something we could all be proud of as a community. I'll miss ripping open that envelope and feasting on the great content, especially some of those great ads!!

Great work and thanks for all the fish!

FYP.

Shame to see it happen, but at the same time it wasn't exactly unexpected.

So, so sad about this.

The EON Team are the sole reason I am in gaming:

6 years ago I walked into the MMM Publishing offices because they took a chance with me on EVETV. Since then I have done so so much in gaming and none of it would have happened if they hadn't let me work with them. I have been very lucky to have been included in parts of that awesome publication, and it's something that I always thought made EVE an even more special and unique universe.

EON, you were wonderful. MMM, you are amazing. You will ALWAYS be my 'dirty space uncles'.

Richie, Ollie and team: Come see me at Insomnia Gaming Festival next week at the EVE Meet. I want to buy you guys beers.

Love

And now I regret i never got back into subscribtion. I have 20 issues in print, and was looking into the magazine for plex deal, which I never got prober around to. Something with DRM blocking me from reading it.
And as mentioned above. I'd love to have all the issues on PDF, and I'd proberbly rob a bank to pay for it. Please do something about this as a last tribute to the awesome magazine that is Eon. I don't want to unpack my sealed stash of originals to reread them. but having them as PDF I'd reffer to them quite frequently (if I can read them). Think about it as a new year thing maybe?

Tried buying EON a couple of times as well as some stuff from the EVE store but never could. Their billing system always said it could not process credit cards from my location because of whatever....but have been playing eve for years. Here's hoping the EVE billing system and the EVE store billing system stay separate Straight.

I remember my corpmates talking about a magazine with in-game ads. It sounded so impossible, so huge. It made me laugh and got me hoocked just by listening these corpmates reading excerpt. I bought one, and the next, and continued till today even thought i don't play anymore: it is one of the great things surrounding Eve Online, so great it is worth reading it even if you don't play (quite an achievement).

I am officially sad Sad.

Oh man that's sad. I love having more stuff in stuff. This blog makes me worried.

Any other ancillary Eve sites need some help staying afloat?

ARE YOU OKAY CCP!?!?!

EON was one of two magazine's I've ever had a subscription for; it was an excellent quality publication that I really miss.

Having done it myself, I know that the main challenge of of publishing a quarterly is finding relevant content; anything that's "news" when you're going to press is "olds" by the time you hit doormats, and it's hard to report on upcoming events in a sandbox. EON did a good job in this regard, and always looked amazing. I was pleased to have it on my coffee table, and even non-gamer friends could appreciate it at an aesthetic level.

Unfortunately I, and I suspect a lot of people, have had to tighten our belts during the recent crash, and a magazine about a game fell well inside the "discretionary spending" bracket when the sub renewal came up.

Best of luck to all involved; you should all be proud of producing a quality publication, about a difficult subject and in a very challenging environment!

It's a shame to see it go. EON was always an entertaining read and they even interviewed me in the earlier days. Congratz to Zap for keeping it alive for as long as he did.

Please save EON! Make it payable by Plex and distribute it solely digital to cut costs. EON can survive!Evil

I've had every single issue faithfully delivered to me all the way to Singapore. They will be treasured, and I do not believe we've seen the last of this fine publication. When Eve has sufficient players, it will be back, better than ever!

Til then, my thanks to all the Eon team for their hard work. Have a break, you've earned it :D

Being a new player i tried 3 copies of this fabulous magazine and i was about to order some more. Too bad to see this excellent magazine leaving the stage. Any1 knows if older copies will still be available ?

I believe all issues are still available for $2 each. This is a real deal if you don't already have all the issues.

I really enjoy my complete collection. Sure some of the articles overlapped with what you can find on the forums, but there were also some real amazing artwork in Eon. I also really enjoyed the CCP staff interviews, especially the frequently asked what is your favorite book question since many of my favorite SFF novels were often mentioned.

This makes me sad. I just got into the game and would love to get some merchandise and magazines. My one friend showed me a old EON and the way the Hurricane looked got me interested on the game. Everything seems to make sad this week... Sad

EON Magazine is the publication that started me on a crazy path into writing and game journalism, I owe more to Richie and crew than I could ever repay and wish everyone involved all the best for the future. I feel honoured to have been able to contribute to so many issues. It's disappointing to see EON come to an end, it had extremely professional production quality and each issue served to capture the game as a snapshot in time.

This is exactly what I hoped would happen, that CCP would make PLEX redeemable for items in the store or at least EON. Unfortunately it didn't happen, and I think it's too late now to save the magazine as the decision has already been made.

I feel like we've somehow taken a step backwards...

This is a pity, a shame and honestly it's rather discouraging if not outright depressing..

As someone who wrote occasionally for EON, and always enjoyed reading it when it landed on my doormat, I'm very sad this day has come. It was a good run though, and Zapatero and his team always delivered a quality product.
