Unrealistic use of Drugs in E.v.e. Online

I find it worrying that in E.v.e. you can pop a pill and suddenly be able to better perform complex motor functions like flying a ship; this is totally unrealistic, and opposite to any drugs in real life. In real life if you take weed and try to drive, you weave all over the road and end up spending the night in a jail cell with a big black guy named Bubba. Does the presence of these "Boosters" ingame subtly encourage drug use in impressionable young players? Discuss...

No, go away.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

I think you are confusing weed with alcohol. If you drink, you tend to weave when driving. Smoking pot usually just leads to you going 5-10mph below the speed limit.

That said, you are confusing boosters with drugs, and choosing poorly with the drug metaphors at that. Think of boosters more like steroids except for the mind.

Additionally, you don't seem to grasp how a pod works. Capsulers do not fly their ships using motor skills. You don't have a throttle and flight stick. Those metal disks in your capsuler's back... That is where the ship and pilot connect. It's all mental. Obviously a capsuler needs stamina, but they do not need to be a ballet dancer or master of fine motor skills. In fact, it may be possible to be a parapalegic and fly a capsuler ship (though you would probably just reclone to fix whatever paralized you if possible)

So really, there isn't much to discuss except either your poor attempt at trolling or you lack of understanding about the eve universe.

I agree! Totally unrealistic until we have access to amphetamine analogues like Adderall or Ritalin. Purchasable with LP from NPC school corporations, these "legal" boosters would increase the rate of skill training.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt that this isn't a troll and is just poorly thought out, you seem to be comparing Eve's performance-enhancing drugs to RL's recreational drugs, completely ignoring the fact that RL has tons of performance enhancing drugs.

ADD drugs, Viagra (BLUE PILL!), steroids... what do you think these things are?

In real life there ARE performance enhancing drigs, though with side effects.

i can only assume several thousand years in the future, drug-overlords have figured out they can make alot more money in the long term if they sell drugs refined adn treated in a way that doesnt kill their customers, and actually give a positive effect in thr consumer promotes buying.

but seriously, you were confusing weed and alcohol, i know alot of alcoholics that have driven and gotten in crashes, of the several ive known to reglarly drive while high, theyve only been pulled over for going to slow or not going at all after a red light, then being driven home by whatever cop plled them over that day (yeah, i live in that kinda town, local cops are pro-weed, just not with driving)

*remembers when you had to download Eve from CCP's site after stating you are over 17 years old while there were no warning labels or online ratings, much less an online game geared towards the "younger" crowd as it is today...

Confirming: Eve should be more like real life.

[insert random rubbish that irritates you personally] is further evidence that Eve is dying/thriving*

Eve should have UI effects when on drugs depending on the current description of it.

As for smoking weed during piloting an eve ship, this usually has the draw back of forgetting to recall drones....

Slippery slope!
Gateway drugs!

Wow. Three big fallacies in one fairly short post. Impressive.

This is a game not real life, stop confusing the two. Its M for mature and not for kids, if your a kid, please tell mummy and she's panic and throw your computer out of the window.

If you are against drugs in RL I will point you to the above.

Do you complain about popping healing potions etc etc in other games because they are drugs too. I bet you really don't like skyrim where you can make your own.
