Either my leadership of The Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (during their high points) or my membership of Genos Occiderre... I'm not sure which. Both were more challenging, more exiting and more fulfilling than the scam.

I have many personal achievements that I've managed to stumble into over my many years in EVE. I'd probably only be able to narrow that list down to two things, it would be:

1) This first would probably be, going from being a CEO of m0o, to making a full 180 and becoming a well known trusted carebear. m0o a very long time ago was an infamous pirate corp, known for being untrustworthy griefers. It was never the plan, I simply just got jaded with pvp, and needed a change.

Today I enjoy both sides of eve. But I still can't help but laugh at how my time in eve took me from one end of the spectrum to the complete other end of the spectrum.Lol

2) The second would have to be, that I learned how to be a good leader. I seemed to always find myself in a leading role, but it took a long time before I actually became a good leader.

I had a lot of other small achievements from goals that I've set for myself, such as isk goals, ship goals, etc. But they didn't seem as significant to me.

EDIT:
Random remark: Being CEO of m0o at the time gave me some of my best and worst times in EVE.

One of my fav personal achievements was tricking you into mining for my first BS way back in 2003 and not mining for yours after mine was done! Twisted

If I can talk about achievements: my biggest ones had not even been planned and probably not even deserved.

I started with a guy handing a then 2-3 months old newb some 43B worth of BPOs and other assets and CEO role (speaking about forum "famous", that affair did not even get to the forums for months) because he had to quit EvE for 2 months.

Totally accustomed at way larger "borrowings on the word" on other MMOs, I did not even think I'd have been "EvE smart" to just keep the stuff. So as he returned I gave him back the stuff and somehow that was seen as some great act.

Then I started reading the MD forums, back in 2009 I did not even know what a chart, a bond or an exchange was. Much less about what a security or a market were.

I did not plan that in in 2011, reading MD would cause me to become a RL trader and that allowed me to keep eating IRL and in Dec 2012 to be contacted by another RL trader to go work for him in his company at Tenerife.

Butterfly effect!

Last but not least achievement: one day I was sitting bored.
Unable to stay committed to EvE enough to be part of my former lovely PvP corp (I quit without being asked, I felt being an inactive leecher) I decided to create a charity fund.

Because what could be more nonsensical and pointless in a cold, harsh game all around screwing the next guy than creating a damn charity? That thing CLEARLY had to be done, I am natural contrarian like that. P

So, with no merit of mine, that is a grumpy, bored natural contrarian, generous Donors created content.
Not game content, but *usable in RL content* in the form of several thousands of dollars of tangible help for the needy.

Said that, I have talked with a number of EvE players currently on other MMOs (I play several) and I have to say that the only famous name they know is Chribba. Few, very few know about Grendell. The others are all unknown.

The only people I've heard of from non-EVE players are the people behind the Guiding Hand Social Club, The Mittani and I'm starting to hear some chatter now about James 315 among non-EVE players.

Chribba is probably the best known celeb in game.

Does anyone think celebrity can have a real effect on the market place? Or could you be more likely to use a new product or service if it was endorsed by the right 'face'?

Any product/service endorsed by the celebs has great potential. People in fact are willing to blindly throw money at anything endorsed by characters like Grendell or VV. Exceptions are "celebs" like Bad Bobby and Riethe (who hasn't got a mention in this thread yet, I think) who are known for scamming.

I was reading this thread aghast that his name didn't turn up for so long. I started playing EVE becuase of him and I actually just reread the PC gamer article on a whim earlier today.
