Returning Player - Stuck Where to Go

As the title says, I figured I'd throw my hat into the ring as another returning player. Basically, I'm having trouble deciding where to put my learning. I used a Drake/Raven for missioning before I left, and now that I want to pick up with incursions I hear they're pretty.... not good. So which of the following should I go for:

Option 1, which I'm doing now, is getting my PI skills up.
Option 2, get my Destroyer and BC skills to V for the skill change.
Option 3, rush for a Rokh incursion set up (~45 days)
Option 4, which I don't know how good it would be for Incursions, is go for some kind of HAM Tengu build

Any ideas? Thanks.

1. if you have any interest in flying spaceships, you can skip training PI until you have a few dozen lvl5 in spaceship command, mechanics, engineering etc. seriously, don't bother.

2. getting BC to V is a solid option if you can get by with your current skills while training it. also do not forget to get all racial cruisers to III for that one to be most effective.

3. i am not convinced that a rokh will get you into incursion fleets, but i am not an incursion runner myself. on the other hand, the rokh is a good stepping stone into the nightmare which is a very good incursion boat.

4. again, not an incursion runner. from where i sit, the HAMgu looks like a really nice incursion ship but i have heard people say that even HAMs are too slow for high performing incursion fleets (the target will often explode before your missiles can even hit it).

I should buy an Ishtar.

About me: I run incursions in a T2 Torpedo Raven. Been doing it for about...3-4 weeks now. It's the best money I can possibly make at my current skill level (12m sp). Usually ~75m isk per hour.

If you're interested in Incursions:

  • Check out chat channel 'The Valhalla Project', a noob-friendly Incursion corp.
  • I see Rokhs in fleet every day. It's a fine ship.
  • I see Caldari Navy Ravens besides my own in fleet pretty often. Make sure you fit torpedoes. Don't use your mission ship.
  • Get used to spending all your money on shiny ship mods.

PI

  • PI is a waste of time for you.

PI isn't bad if you are sticking around in one area a lot, and often have spare time to do a little PI. If you are going to do Incursions it might not be a great idea as you'll be moving around a lot. Another area to look at is faction warfare running FW sites can be a big money maker even at low skills.
