De-regulation - Government's don't ask don't tell policy that allows unscrupulous companies to put decent companies out of business by cutting corners that would otherwise threaten those companies with fines and loss of license if only they were regulated and inspected.

The reason the US is quiet on this is due to 1) As long as our media doesn't ask the questions on everyone's mind then there isn't a problem and besides if they don't ask it, it's not on our minds, right? 2) The answers to 'those' questions would probably require regulation putting those unscrupulous companies out of business and losing a lot of "good" people their jobs. "Good' people are not the workers, they're the guys lining the politicians' pockets that's why they're 'good'. And 3) We're a government of the people, for the people which is why corporations have spent billions and decades dis-empowering people by convincing them government only screws up everything and to instead rely on corporations to do it right thereby impoverishing the people's power through government.
